First day of school

I groaned as I stumbled out of bed and I turned my alarm off. The I remembered: Today is the first day as a Senior in High school. One more year and I'm gonna be out of that hellhole. I ran into the bathroom and made myself ready. After putting on an outfit I went down to the kitchen to make myself a quick breakfast. I decided to make me a bowl with Greek Yoghurt, a squashed banana, hazelnuts, honey and cinnamon. Just after I finished I heard a honk and headed out of the door.

"Good morning babe" said my best friend  Sarah. "Are you excited to see Nico again?" she asked knowing I had a crush on that boy since the first day I met him. "Mhm" I said, trying to hide my face while I was blushing.

When we arrived at Solon High School I groaned as I saw that Jess and the other Blondies were occupying the entrance. " seriously I'm gonna be so happy once they will be out of my face" Sarah  muffled. I laughed at her statement. Jessica and her blondies were our enemies since freshmen year, a group of stuck up chicks that thinks that they're the hottest girls on earth. But to be honest.... They were just plastic.

After we finally made our way through the entrance we took the best lockers, and then headed to math class. We took our seats in the middle row and waited for everyone else to arrive. No.. she waited for everyone else, I waited for one special boy....

"Are you looking for Nico?" Sarah asked me while eating her croissant. "You know me too well Sarah" I responded half laughing and half embarrassed.  Seconds before the bell rang – the teacher was already in the class, the door swung open and there he stood. His hair fell in the most perfect hair and you could see his muscles through the white T-shirt. "Sorry I missed the school bus" he mumbled searching for a seat.

"Hey Cate is this seat taken?" he asked me. Me. Nico asked me, Nico knew my name! "Nono, you can sit here" I a swerved trying not to sound like an imbecile. "Great thank you" he answered as he sat down smiling to himself.

As soon as class ended I sprinted to the restroom where I let cold water run over my writs to calm myself down. "What was that?" Sarah asked me  noticing how I panicked. "He knows my name, I'm going to be distracted my him in class, I'm going to fail it and then I'll never get the scholarship that would bring me to Juilliard and I'll never be an actress" I said without taking breath. "Whoa calm down, you're not going to fail, you have to stop to overthink everything!" said Sarah trying to calm me down. Common let's go to Spanish class, I don't want to get in trouble with Mr Rodriguez.

The rest of school day passed very slowly but somehow me managed to survive it.

I decided to invite Sarah for lunch as I needed her advice. After we sat down at Diner on the 55th a lovely diner made in the 50s style and we ordered I decided to tell her. "so Sarah, as you know my it's my dream to become an actress and I found an extra acting class besides the one in school too, but there's a problem.... My parents will only allow it if I'll do well in school and my grades won't drop. Would you be so nice and help me sometimes out with homeworks?" I asked her while eating my burger. "Sure Cate I'm your best friend! I'll help you always!"

"By the way do you know what play our school will do?" She asked me. "Yeah we will do Romeo and Juliet, and I'm thinking of auditioning for Juliet" I answered her.

Suddenly my phone made a sound and I looked at the screen, it was a reminder to go do homework. I excused myself and went home.
