It is weird to be at a party, when I usually despise them so much. I promised Hermione to stay two hours but I am already slightly overwhelmed. We've not even been here for 20 minutes. We've just been talking to friends so far, no sight of Harry and Ron, I might add.

I tap Hermione on the shoulder. "What do you want to drink?"

"Anything is fine, thank you"

I nod and walk to the table with the drinks. I just grab two bottles of something, without  really looking. On my way back I accidentally bump a few people, always mumbling "sorry's" after them.

"Violett" I turn around to where the voice called me.

"Oh, Cormac, hello" I can not stand this guy. He is a year older than us and a bit weird.

"It's nice to see you at a party!" He steps closer. "You look great, by the way" his eyes wander down my body, staying a little too long on my chest. I get uncomfortable and cross my arms in front of my chest.

"Thank you, that's nice" I stand in front of him not knowing what to do next.

"How are you doing?" he asks me. He is right in front of me now.

"I'm good, yeah. What about you?" I politely say.

"I'm great, thank you" he answers and there is a little awkward silence.

"Well-"

"Well-"

"Sorry, you first" I say and he laughs.

"I just wanted to ask if you'd like to dance?"

I'm a little caught off guard by the random question.

"I actually-" yet again I get cut off, this time by another voice.

"McLaggen, piss off. She doesn't want to dance with you. Obviously"

Furrowing my brows, I move my eyes to Draco.

"How would you know? Dancing is actually just what I need and if it's with Cormac McLaggen, that's even better" That was a complete lie. But I am not going to give Malfoy the satisfaction of being right.

Draco huffs. Without paying any attention to him I pull McLaggen onto the dance floor, after putting the drinks down.

"I love this song" Cormac says and starts to dance.

"Me too" I lie once again and join him. He grabs my hands and we dance and dance to that song. If I didn't know that Draco was watching us, I would have already left. After the song, another one plays, and another one and another one. The entire time I feel the boy's eyes look at me. He never looses track of our movements.

After what feels like hours, a slow song starts to play. McLaggen holds out his hand and bows a little.

"May I?"

God, this is ridiculous.

And yet I take his hand and place it on my waist. His other hand follows. I put mine around his neck and lean my head against his chest to avoid eye contact. A minute after, I see the blonde boy disappearing out of the corner of my eye. Finally.
