I woke up extra early that morning trying to get out of the house before anybody else woke up. I took a quick shower changed then ran downstairs. I grabbed a leftover arepa, an apple and a bottle of water then headed off into town. 'Hey look it's that weird wannabe Madrigal'. 'Can you believe that she had the nerve to yell at her'. 'If I was her I would have tossed her out on the streets by now'. Great now they have another reason to hate me. I tried to block out all the whispering and the gossip as I headed to the forest. After a little bit of walking I finally reached my destination a small meadow surrounded by lots of thick tall trees. It was pretty much impossible to find unless you knew where to look.
I walk over to a area with soft light green grass and lied down started cloud watching and prepared myself for a very relaxing day. After counting butterflies, cloud watching and just enjoying nature I heard tia Julieta calling everyone for breakfast. Being torn between going and not going I decided to go for manners and sit down but then sneak all my food onto the plate of the person sitting on either side of me.
I ran through the forest to in front of Casita. I slipped in served my self just like normal but tried to avoid talking or making eye contact with anyone. When I had sat down and was about to slide all my food onto Camilo's plate tio Agustín asked 'so YN where have you been today'. Tio Félix facepalmed. 'Here and there' I answered trying to end the conversation as soon as possible. 'Well you won't believe what happened to me in town today there was this nice girl about your age asking about you'. 'She asked if you could maybe come over sometime and play'. 'Ummmm'. 'It would mean a lot to me' he said pulling out the puppy dog eyes 🥺. 'Why not'? I said giving in. 'Yes'! 'I promise you will not regret this'! Collective facepalm from all the adults (except for Abuela she was talking to Dolores and Isabela about something. 'Hey look their she is now' 'Marco YN is here'! Marco who looked like she wanted to disappear started waving awkwardly at us. 'Go ahead YN'. 'Ok' I said wanting to die. 'So hi'. 'hi'. 'My name is Marco but you probably already know that I'm not very good with conversations but look we're here. ' isn't this the soccer field'. 'Ya about that...
'Marco did you manage to bring her here' a figure coming up the field yelled. As she came down the hill I saw that the figure was none other than Maria Gonzalez accompanied by her two friends Rahana and Rosa. 'Good your here'. I know we've our differences in the past' she said in a voice that could only mean she wanted something. 'But could you do me a favour once'. 'What' I asked. 'I need you to get me a date with Camilo'. 'Rahana's parents are out of town camping for a anniversary or something and their going to be gone for a while'. 'So she's doing the most reasonable thing anyone would do throw a party and I need a date so ya'. 'In exchange I will give you two invitations to the party and I won't make your life miserable'. 'So what's it going to be'.
I didn't know what to say I didn't need Maria making my life worse than it already is, and on the other hand I don't want to sell out Camilo since he's always been pretty nice to me. 'We don't have all day' Maria said scowling. I.... I started fading.
When I first got my gift I had a hard time controlling it especially the becoming see through part. Whenever I got really emotional, scared or angry my whole body would become invisible. Sometimes only parts of my body which would scare all of the younger kids. Imagine being two and seeing a floating head and an arm, ya. But I learned to control it at least I thought I did. 'Hey where did she go' Rosa said sounding confused. 'It's her gift dummy' Maria snarled 'if you don't come out on the count of three consider yourself finished'. '1 2...' I didn't stick around to hear three I ran through town until I reached the meadow. I sat down to catch my breath then tried to go back to cloud watching like it was all just a bad dream.
Sorry if this chapter sucks I am dealing with serious writers block and didn't know what to do.
