Cooking Club

While she was being pain the butt, Heath walked up behind her and patted her back "Be a good kitty and leave her alone or I will tell Clawd to chase you again" Toralei hissed at him but turned and walked off and that's when we saw the sign Heath had stuck to her back, it said "Warning I Have Fleas" All of us had to muffle our laughter when we saw the sign. Jackson looked at him "She's going to be one angry kitty whens she sees that sign" I asked Heath what he wanted and he told me he was bored and Mr.Rotter just chewed him out so he's laying low and he saw me when he came into the library and decided to hang out. He sat down in a chair at our table and took book out to make it look like he was doing his Hisstory homework. I checked the time and realized I had to get to cooking club so I asked Neighthan if he was ok working by himself and he said yes, I told him to hang on to my notebook to help him out. Though before I left Neighthan asked me to meet him at the Coffin Bean later and I told him I would.

I ran into the Home Ick room and appologized for being late as I was helping a fellow student in the library. Deuce told me it was ok and showed me what we were doing and I got to work. It seems what ever club I'm part of some of my guys friends end up following me and joining me as it happened now as Jackson Jekyll joined us. He came in when I was trying to warn Invisi Billy not to turn the stand mixer up to full speed....and before I could get out why you shouldn't do that, the stand mixer threw devil's food cake batter all over him and his surroundings making all of us burst into a fit of laughter. I grabbed a roll or paper towels and ran over "That's why we don't do that..also soften butter before you mix it into a batter with a stand mixer or it will throw the chunk of butter at you" Deuce took a picture and posted it to our social media chat with the caption "Do not attempt to mix cake batter at high speed with a stand mixer...you end up wearing it" I asked Jackson for some helping getting lunch going and he helped me. I was cutting up some onions to use and Jackson was browning the meat used in the dish. No one knew my freaky flaw which was being able to use magic. I dumped the chopped onions into the meat and told Jackson to stir them in and cook them with the meat while I got the other stuff we needed. I couldn't find the bottle of ketchup then I seen it and without thinking I held out my hand and called it to me and turned to set it on the counter then noticed everyone staring at me "What? Jackson take that off the burner so the other stuff can be added" Bonita walked over to me "How did you make that bottle float over to you? It was not Invisi Billy as he was helping me cut potatoes up for fries" I realized what I had done "Erm...Ghouls and Mansters you have just witnessed my freaky flaw, I can use magic" I got the mustard and brown sugar and returned to Jackson and mixed the stuff in with the meat, tasting it and making adjustments and soon Jackson and I had a huge pan of sloppy joe's made for lunch. Deuce asked me how I learned to cook and I told him my mom, when I was a little ghoul I'd always be in the kitchen with her so she taught me to cook and bake and that we are using her recipe for the sloppy joe's. I wiped a tear away as I really miss my mom but know she's always with me. We had another accident and this time it was Deuce, he was using the blender to make smoothies and he didn't put the lid on right and when he turned the blender on the lid shot off covering him, the counter and the ceiling in Strawberry Banana smoothie. Jackson crossed his arms "And that's why you make sure the lid is on right before turning the blender on" We had some students ask about vegetarian and vegan options so I showed Deuce which recipes can be altered to make them veggie friendly. Venus was not ok with this but we wanted all the students to be happy and be able to eat what they want so to be funny Invisi Billy asked her did she want us to include bugs on the menu for her, that earned him a death glare before she stormed out. Elissabat was helping Deuce clean the mess up and while doing so she brought up the fact that we added fish to the menu for our werecat friends and Lagoona and Gill did not complain one bit about it and I said some sea/river monsters believe it or not eat fish, so it's part of thier diet as well. At one point Jackson and I were sharing a snack and got asked what it was and he said it was strawberry poptarts. Bonita looked him "What's a poptart?" Jackson facepalmed as he forgot they don't know what some normie foods are only the ones they were introduced to. "It's a pastry usually warmed in the toaster and eaten that way, it's filled with fruit jam while others will have chocolate or someother other kind of filling and you can eat them without warming them which is how we eat them and they often eaten for breakfast, but make quick and tasty snacks for when you need something on the go" Deuce looked at me "You eat normie food?" I rubbed the back of my head "Shadow Sirens are much like a normie since they are a rare branch of that race, we use magic and thus are known as witches so yes we eat normie foods, we also eat some weird stuff as well" Invisi Billy looked at us "You two may be able to help us then, we had request for more normie foods to be served and you two can help us make them when they are requested" Both Jackson and I agreed to it and said it was no problem. Once school ended for the day, I hurried off to meet Neighthan at the Coffin Bean as planned.

Author's Note: The way they made sloppy joes can be done, you brown the meat with onions, then add 2 tbspoons brown sugar, 2 tbspoons water, ketchup and mustard, you mix together and taste it then make adjustments until it suits your tastes, the meat used is usually ground beef, but other meats can be used with it and the onions can be left out. I also use 2 tbspoons of olive oil to brown the meat and onions, veggie oil can be used and use low heat when doing so the meat does not stick to the bottom of the pan. You also just squirt the ketchup and mustard in once the meat is browned and you've added the brown sugar and water, that's why i said about adjuments until it suits your taste. Enjoy if you decide to try this. Oh and as for the onion measurment, use the amount you like.
