Chapter 10 - Crystal tears

"what the-," Zelda is puzzled as she holds open the door to the underground room.

Arienne catches her view. There's fire in her eyes.  Zelda gulps.

"Z!" Brooklyn exclaims and then jumps down from the barrel. "We have been waiting for you!" She hugs her big sister's legs.

"Um..." Zelda trails off. "Mind telling me what's happening here and what're you doing here?" She questions. "And boss, what happened to u??" Her eyes widen.

"That's your boss??" Arienne enquires.

"Yea??"

They stare at each other baffled.

The boss is now held up by some built men. "What-", he pants. "Who is this girl??"

"Uh...you alright boss?"

"She kicked me where the sun doesn't shine!" He cries, Flailing his arms around.

"Um.."

"His men were attacking me!" Now arienne bursts out.

"You came here without any warning!"

"I needed to meet her!"

"You aren't allowed here!"

"How even- how would I have known that!"

"It's a goddamned underground-"

"That's enough!" Zelda yells and Everyone is silenced.

"You," she points at arienne. "How'd u get here?"

"Brooklyn led me here. I told her about you avoiding me and she told me you'd be here." Arienne speaks.

"And why did you trust a 5 year old-"

"Oii!! I'm not five. I'm seven!" She shouts, showing her seven fingers.

Zelda sighs. "And big guy what was the matter with her?"

"how did they came here I don't even know. I suppose it's from the back alley way where these shawties could've been fit." The bald guy with strong body and dark glasses (arienne makes a face as why does he even require them as they're underground with no sun) who was supporting the fat boss tells.

Zelda hums whilst Arienne glares and pouts at the guy and says something along the lines of 'we're not short' under her breath.

"Anyways, Brook I told u not to come here nor even tell anybody about this." Zelda's annoyed.

Brooklyn just hugs her even tighter and says, "but arienne likes youu." With her best puppy eyes.

Arienne's cheeks flares up and she coughs.

Sighing, Zelda takes a seat in one of the chairs and pinches the bridge of her nose.

"Let's just get you guys home."

Zelda sits on the roof all the time when they arrive home. Not making up her mind to come inside and why should she? The girl's head is plagued with thoughts she doesn't know what to do about.

Arienne is gloomy the way Zelda chooses to not even be in the same room, let alone speak to her.

Zelda keeps her head burried in her folded knees. She feels arms encircle her but doesn't look up. She has an idea on who it is.

"I'm sorry." Arienne says, her words muffled as she hugs Zelda with her whole being. "I'm very, very sorry, Z..."

"I know," she says. "I know I should respect your privacy. But you not talking to me, let alone even see me. It hurts me to death. I don't know why. I don't what did I do to upset you but I'm sorry. Please tell what I did wrong so I may not repeat it again in the future...please." Tears pour out of her eyes and wets Zelda's shirt.

Zelda turns around in a spilt second and holds her face, wiping the spilling water of the others eyes. "Hey-hey-hey-hey," her face is worried. "It's not you, my love. You didn't do anything. You could to never wrong." She aligns her forehead with arienne's. "I'm sorry if I made you feel that way and if I hurt you. I understand why you went there. I'm sorry I wasnt talking to you. It's just-- it's my mother. She doesn't want me to be a bad influence on you. Im terribly sorry I hurt you."

"Why?" Arienne asks. "Why does she not want you around me? Does she not know how much of an amazing person you are? Does she not know how much I want you to be with me?" She rubs her forehead against Zelda's.

"I don't know..." Zelda's eyes are down casted. Arienne sniffles.

"Let's go in. It's cold."
