Ow my head hurts.

I tried to open my eyes but the bright light made me close my eyes. I rolled my head and groaned at the cracking in my neck. Just then I realized I had rope around wrists and ankle. My wrists were restricted behind my chair and ankles were tied to the legs of the chair.

I slowly re-opened my eyes squinting until my sight became clear. Finally being able to see I took in the room in front of me.

It was dim, with cold and old tiles, the walls looked moldy and water was dripping slowly onto the floor from the pipes from the ceiling.

My eyes went wide in alarm. Where's Alex?!

"He's fine" a deep voice said.

I looked to the dark corner if the room where I saw a dark figure leaning against the wall.

"That doesn't matter. Your son is safe and asleep up in the lounge room. We will take good care of him. But right now I need to ask a few questions" he said harshly

I thought over of what he said

"Oh, he's my nephew not my son, but I am his legal guardian." I said quietly because my throat hurt "Do you think I can have a glass of water?" I asked

The man came out of the shadows and squatted in front of me. He was wearing a black beanie with holes cut for the eyes and mouth, like what they were all wearing while robbing the bank , but what caught me off guard was his eyes. His bright yet dark green eyes. I looked in awe

"He's not your son?" He asked less harshly. When he saw I was still staring he asked "Why are you looking at me like that?"

I smiled and blushed slightly "I-I really li-ke your eyes" I mentally cursed at my stuttering

He smiled behind his mask "Are you trying to seduce your way out of here" he said like he knew what I was doing

I shook my head my smile dropping "No I mean it. I'm just embarrassed" I said quietly and honestly

His eyes softened just a bit but were still hard "Oh" he said under his breathe he looked away and stood up "Well I'm going to ask you a couple of questions okay?" He said in a slightly hard tone

I nodded

"Why were you at the bank at such late hours?" He asked grabbing a chair from the corner and placing it across from me.

I took a small breathe and replied "I was coming from work late and I had to pick up Alex from his babysitter first. I needed to deposit my check that night so the money would transfer into my account officially so I could use it the next day for groceries" then I asked "How long have I been knocked out?"

He look at me and said "twelve hours. Right now it's 10:30 in the morning." I nodded "next question, why do you have custody of your neph...Alex." He said correcting the end.

This time I took a deep breathe "Listen I don't know why I am here and I really don't care. I am just worried about me and my nephew getting out of here. That kid in the lounge room is the only family I have left and I will protect him. I didn't see your faces, I don't know who you are so I don't see the problem of letting us go" I replied firmly

He looked shocked at my little out burst
He recomposed himself and said "We took you because you would be questioned and accused of being apart of the robbery. So we made it look like a kidnapping. We just saved you time. We will let you go in the near future when everything dies down and we give you a fake story and place to find us. Okay?" He said coldly

I nodded "That seems fair" I said

"So answer my question" he demanded. You know what I'm tired of his hard talk
