"You know..... I would prefer it if you are a second year."
Kozue-senpai said that brushing aside a strand of hair out of her glasses.
"I wouldn't prefer to be in your grade, but it would have been entertaining, to crush you that is.''
"Why do you think you would crush me?"
"It is my habit to say that."
"Make sure you live up to that habit."
I had no such habit, but I created that because I didn't have anything interesting to throw to this conversation.
"You excellently handled the fire thrown to your class, honestly, I thought you were going to fail."
"Sometimes, it is unavoidable to fail, but this day wasn't one of those times."
She nods at my statement
"You aren't full of pride like you let on."
"Pride is inconsequential when there is no winning."
Kozue-senpai looked intrigued and our conversation continued like that. After a while the course of the conversation drifted about Horikita Manabu.
"......I will apologize next time I see Horikita-senpai."
I said, after discussing about my actions against Horikita Manabu with Kozue-senpai.
"Well thought. He is still the president."
She is right. Horikita Manabu currently holds an immense power, but still, I wonder if my apology will have any significance.
"Kozue-senpai, when is the election for the next president?"
"It's a month from now."
That is awfully close.
"Do you plan on participating?"
She looked at me silently and proceed to open her mouth.
"That should have been obvious. I plan to win the election. Don't forget the promise we have made."
Of course there is that.....but still there also a chance that she will not win the election, although, being slim.
The promise was that I must join the student council when she become the president.
"Rest assured. I will be your concil's secretary."
I guessed that she will make a secretary and said that. She chuckled and looked straight to my eyes.
"Who said that I will make a secretary? You will be my vice president."
She declared, with a cold tone, but countrary to her tone, she was smiling just faintly.
"That's a big role to play for a first year don't you think?"
Her faint smile grew bigger and formed a smirk.
"Come on Ayanokouji, don't make say the obvious. You are by no means the average first year.....I sometimes wonder your age, can you tell me that?"
My answer would be 15- which is the average age for first years but my real age is 14.
"I am 15."
"A lie."
I don't know what was the basis for her to say that.
"What do you know?"
"It might sound incoherent, but I just got the feeling that you are younger."
Well, that feeling hit the mark.
"I was lying. I am 14."
I somehow decided to confess.
"See? I knew."
She said, touching my shoulder with her own.
"Good job."
Then both of us went silent for 2 or so minutes.
Kozue-senpai blinks her eyes, adjust her eyeglasses and separate her soft looking lips."Are you free on the weekend?"
Then the distance between our faces shrunk.
'No.' That is what I would normally say, but that word refused to get out of my mouth. Maybe it's because of how close our faces are, I am seeing more of the feminine beauty of Kozue-senpai. Personally, I think she is the most beautiful girl I have ever met.
If I agree now, it means that I will have to meet 6 girls on the weekends.
"Can I ask the reason?"
"I just want to discuss with my future vice-president."
She must be awfully confident that she will win the election, otherwise she wouldn't have said such things as a normal person, but the person sitting beside me is definitely not a normal person.
I would be impudent of me to reject her, after all she is the only one I harbour feelings of respect, although an iota of it.
"As you wish, future president."
She then smiles seemingly satisfied.
