Waking up the next day, Leo was a little disoriented, to say the least. The room was as cold as always, with him bundled up underneath several different blankets, and the same, dull light filtering through the drawn curtains. Of course, there was the obvious difference, with Casper sleeping at the other end of his bed, still curled up under several blankets of his own. It was a somewhat startling discovery, making Leo feel about ten times more awake as he suddenly sat up. He started to wrack his brain for information of the previous night, mainly coming up with Casper talking to him before both of them passed out. That, and of course, what happened in the treehouse...

It didn't feel real to a certain degree, the majority of yesterday. And now he had to wonder if Casper would be angry- he wasn't the night previous, but he was also in a strange emotional state. Everyone was tired and vulnerable and impulsive, and maybe they'd made some severe lapses in judgment, but at the same time, he felt weirdly good about it all. Not anything that happened in the manor, or even in the farmhouse, but everything that happened after. Even if it wasn't much, it was almost overwhelming for him.

Leo sat up with a small shiver, wrapping his arms around himself, and moving his legs a little. At the other end of the bed, Casper grumbled, stirring a little before sitting up as well; his eyes were still mostly closed, and his hair was a complete mess. He ran a hand through it, trying to tease it back down to something more manageable, but it only seemed to get worse, which Leo cracked a smile at. Casper just glared at him, seeming somewhat teasing but mostly still tired.

"Well, I don't really remember falling asleep over here," Casper yawned, stretching a little, and swinging his legs back over the side of the bed. "But I guess that's the least of our worries right now."

"Do you want your gift now, or do you wanna open it downstairs? Because I kinda didn't put it under the tree." Leo smiled shyly, looking down at the blanket on his lap. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Casper nod.

"Yeah, we can do that. I didn't bring yours downstairs either." He slid off the side of the bed with another stretch, before yawning again. "Light, I'm still tired."

"We were up pretty late last night," Leo reasoned weakly, not sure how he should go about talking about that specific topic. Casper gave him an unreadable look, which only made him feel worse; he had no idea what he was doing, for god's sake, and Casper probably didn't either. Really, some help with... whatever this was would be nice. Of course, asking anyone downstairs for help would mean having to explain the treehouse to them, and the idea of that made him want to throw himself out of his window and into the snow. Not that anyone should ever climb from this bedroom's window, it was far too high.

Casper walked over to him, only making Leo sit up straight, his back against the headboard as Casper studied him, making him feel like a bug under a microscope. Stupidly, Leo found himself hoping he'd kiss him again, but instead, Casper just sighed, shaking his head a little. Under his breath, Leo could hear him mumble, "What am I going to do with you?"

"Well, I mean..." Leo began, cutting himself off with a nervous laugh, feeling his hands suddenly get shaky. He could hardly talk with the way Casper was looking at him, it was like his throat was closing up. He tried to clear it, darting his eyes away while Casper continued to stare at him. "I mean, uh... fuck, actually, forget I said anything."

"Uh-huh." Casper almost sounded amused, tilting his head a little as he started to smile.

"Yeah, so..." Leo cleared his throat again, pulling his blanket up to his face. "Can we just do the presents, please?"

Casper snickered a little at that, walking away from Leo's bedside and over to the closet to retrieve the thing he'd hidden in there. Leo didn't even know how big it was, not having seen hide nor hair of his present, so he really had no clue what he was in for. Forcing himself out of the warmth of his blankets, he slid onto the floor, grabbing the plastic bag that the present was still stored in. Leo felt slightly guilty for not wrapping it, but at the same time, he never really had the time to, not without Casper seeing it.
