RHEA'S POV"I'm sorry about what I did last time. I was careless and..." I embarrassedly trailed off with a long face before lowering my head down a little to pour my attention on my tingling fingers.
Jasper, Kendra and I are having our own little reunion or let me say, a friendly meeting inside the starbucks. I was trying hard not to shake in fear and anxiety in front of Jasper and his anxious eyes.
We are sitting face to face with one another on a round table located between us. Kendra was silently tapping her perfectly painted nails on the table while Jasper was watching me intently with a gentle smile on his handsome. This is really embarrassing.
After that shocking incident awhile ago, he led us here to make a formal 'talk' about friendship. Jasper just saved my life knowing that he can be trust-worthy. It's just my phobia acting on its own to shrug me off from socializing with other people.
"Y-You don't have to be sorry. It's also my fault because I didn't know you were sensitive. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way." Jasper soothed. I can feel the heat on my face from the way he expresses himself gently.
No man has ever talked to me like that. Not even Dave.
"Take it easy, Rhea. He's not gonna bite you." Kendra asked with a smirk while wiggling her eyebrows at me. She turned confidently to Jasper. "Why don't you both get to know each other? You have saved her ass two times already from pain. I'll just order some coffee."
I glared at Kendra but she just cocked her face to another side. Before she could leave her table, she glanced at me with an evil smile before straying towards counter. Is she serious about leaving me alone?
"So..." I can feel the quick beating of my heart when he opened his mouth. "... how are you?" He gently asked. My head quickly lit up in surprise. Did he just asked me if I were okay?
"I-I'm perfectly f-fine. How 'b-bout you? Y-Your bleeding jaw? Are y-you sure it doesn't h-hurt?" I stuttered and looked away for the second time. I'm too shy to look at his caramel brown eyes that shines in the atmosphere. They are brightly twinkling on its own without him doing anything.
"Don't worry about it. It's just a scratch." He proudly stated. My face brighten up in assurance. "Well, I believe we didn't get to know each other properly, yeah?" he continued before gently chuckling. Was he this joyful?
Last time we met was when I was left speechless from having seen the tattoos on his arms. Right now, he's wearing a jacket so I can't see those creepy tattoos.
"I'm Jasper Inferno and you are Rhea Blight, right? The Queen Bee." He extended his hand to me. I hesitated to shake it off but then, I need to do this because there's no way I'll act rude to him who just saved my life.
"Y-Yeah. J-Jasper. Nice name." I stated before choking the lump in my throat to take his hand. As soon as our hands collided, the feeling of trust and warm atmosphere appeared through my veins. Not sparkles or electricity but something that made me want to know him more. That he's worth my trust and heart.
His large hand fits mine perfectly.
"Your hand is so warm." I whispered out of the blue when our hands lasted a few seconds together before releasing it. That was a very different predilection compared to any man I've shook hands with before.
"Actually, we're classmates in one subject. You're a civil student, right?" He asked, making my eyes widen in surprise. What? So we're classmates all along? How come I didn't notice?
"I-I don't remember your face to any of my classes." I replied with a surprised reaction, getting all my courage to stare at him straight to the eyes.
