I was hanging out with the members of SHINee and my other friends as we prepared to say goodbye to Minho, he's enlisting for his military service and will be gone for a year. Me and Minho have always had an interesting relationship, I've known him for several years due to my brother being his leader and I've had feelings for him and I know he has feelings for me too but every time I think it's going somewhere Minho always gets cold feet, I hate it honestly.
"Everything okay sis?". Onew asks me.
"Yeah, just thinking". I said.
"About Minho?"
"What? No I was-"
"Hey i was teasing you, I know you do like him and he likes you...even though I don't approve of it"
"He's never gonna ask me out, don't worry"
"Never say never sis".
Onew pats my arm then walks back inside to the party, I continue sitting out on the back porch just gazing at the stars when I hear the back sliding door open.
"I knew you would be out here". I hear Minho say.
"What are you doing out here?". I ask him.
"I needed some air". Minho saids.
I scoot over so Minho can sit besides me which he does, I couldn't help but stare at him, he looks so different with his haircut.
"I'm not use to your hair being this short". I said patting his head, Minho chuckles.
"My hair will grow back silly". Minho saids, he bops my nose jokingly.
"You know I'm gonna miss you". I said, sounding a bit sad.
"I'll only be gone a year, it'll go by quickly". Minho reassures me.
"Are you gonna miss me?". I ask Minho.
"You know I will". He saids.
Our eyes suddenly lock onto each other's and Minho leans in, his lips meeting mine, I kiss him back.
"I've wanted to do that for a while now". Minho saids shyly.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I want you to be my girl y/n"
"But what about you going into the military?"
"Will you be there waiting for me?"
"Yes Minho, you know I will".
Minho smiles and we kiss again, this was the moment I've waited years for, Minho finally asking me to be his girlfriend.
NOVEMBER, 2020:
The day is finally here, the day Minho is being discharged from the military, Myself along with Onew and the others stood in the room waiting for him to walk in.
"Look at you all dolled up". Key teases.
"I wanna look good for my man". I said.
"You know I still don't approve of this". Onew jokes, I smack his arm.
The door opens and in comes Minho still in his uniform, The guys and all the crew clamor once Minho is fully in the room.
"You could have changed clothes". Key said loudly.
"Come here!". Minho shouts.
Their little exchange makes everyone laugh out at loud, Minho hugs and greets Onew and Taemin.
"Don't let him leave the room y/n". Key quips.
"Oh hush". Minho saids as him and Key finally hug.
"Go hug your girlfriend babo". Key saids.
Minho chuckles then he walks over to me, removing his hat before embracing me in a bone crushing hug, I hug him back.
"I missed you". Minho saids.
"I missed you too". I said.
Minho kisses me, I hear Onew groan annoyedly causing me to giggle in the middle of the kiss, Minho wraps his arms around me.
"I'm happy to be home". He saids.
"Let's go celebrate!". Taemin saids loudly.
"Yeah let's go". I added.
"First, he needs to go change". Key chimes in.
"After we eat". Minho saids, knowing it'll annoy Key.
We all walk out of the room, Minho holds my hand as we make our way to the car, he made sure I was sitting next to him.
"Thank you for waiting for me y/n, I promise to make it up to you". Minho saids to me.
"I told you you were worth the wait, I love you". I said, Minho smiles then rest his head on top of mine.
"I love you too y/n". Minho replies happily.
The guys up front groan annoyedly at us being cute, Minho shouts at them for being jealous and they began playfully arguing while you laughed hysterically.
Nothings really changed...and I loved it.
