In Love With The Irish One ~(N.H.)

I sat, just contemplating... then I finally got up the courage to call her back.

It rang twice then she answered.

"Hey, Niall" She greeted me happily... happier than she's been lately since her mom got hurt.

"hey, sorry I missed your call last night" 

"Not a problem! Guess what?" She sounded too happy... does she have a boyfriend now?

"hmm.. I don't know. You tell me" I joked even though I was not smiling

"Mom's gonna be okay. I got to see her. She should be out of the hospital in two weeks because she has fractured ribs."

"Wow. That's great. I mean, not the fractured ribs part... but... yeah" I rambled a little and mentally cursed at myself, hoping she wouldn't notice.

"Yeah! It is great." She agrees

"So... you... uhm... had a date the other night?" I ask, unsure and worried about her answer

"Oh, yeah" She sounds annoyed. 

"Well?" I asked, urging her to go on

"He was totally not my type. Alicia set me up with him. It was just... weird." She admitted

I smiled so wide... and I was so thankful she couldn't see me.

"That sucks." I mumble as I lay back on my bed

"Well, no, not really. I'm not interested in anyone but this one guy" 

My heart jumps a little in my chest.

"Ooo Melody has a crush" I taunt

I forget the world around me and we end up talking for an hour. We got interrupted by the loud knock on my door. "Oh shit" I cussed

"What? Is something wrong?" Mel's voice came through the phone a little worried

"I was supposed to go to the hotel breakfast with the guys, but I forgot" I admitted before taking the phone from my ear and shouting, "Come in!" to the guys

The door opens and the three come in. Harry, worried. Louis, annoyed. Liam, guilty and worried.

"Fellas. Shit. I'm sorry, I got completely distracted" I mumbled as I still was on call

"It's fine. You missed this kid falling and faceplanting though." Louis tells me. Harry smacks his arm and says "It wasn't funny! I felt bad! He cried!"

Liam motions to the phone and I nod, just knowing that he was asking if it was Melody or not.

He nodded in response then sat gently on the chair. Louis and Harry flopped onto the couch and I resumed my talk with my best friend.  

"They're not mad. They're just chilling around my room now." I tell her

"Tell them I said hi" She chimes. I quickly mumble to the guys that she says 'hello' and they all say it back. 

"Well... I guess I'm gonna get off the phone and- Oh, hold on, Liam is trying to ask me something" 

I hold my phone down and turn to Liam.

He mouths, "Did you ask about her date?"

I nod and he raises his eyebrows, in response I shake my head 'no'. He grins and nods then says "Are you two okay?" and I nod once more.

I get back on the phone. Melody and I say our finally goodbyes and she says "Just 7 days. Love you. See you." and I say "7 days, Mel. Love ya. See you soon"

"So" Liam says with a smug grin on his face, the kind of smug grin that wants me to admit that he is right.

"What, Liam?" I ask, my tone full of sass

"I'm right and you know it" He taunts

I roll my eyes and fall backwards on my bed, laying out flat once more.

"What're you right about, Li?" Harry asks as he pulls his face out of Louis' chest

"I'm right about the fact that Niall is in love and won't admit it"

I roll my eyes.

Louis laughs and says, "You are right, Liam."

and Harry, clueless as usual, asks "who?"

"Casper the friendly-fucking-ghost" Louis laughs loudly, earning a smack from Harry

"Melody" Liam says quickly

I throw a pillow at him, and it hits him in the chest.

"Oh... so you want a pillow fight?" Liam asks challengingly. I grab a second pillow and chuck it at him.

"oh, you're on, Horan" he shouts as it hit him in the face

and that turns into all of us throwing pillows at each other, swinging them with our full strength, and laughing so loud we were secretly worried about getting thrown out of the hotel.
