Ghost story

The story

Percy and Annabeth stumbled upon a huge mansion, which they had heard of before. The people in their town had warned them about it. It was said to be haunted, presumably by a ghost from the Victorian Era. As they looked at it Percy asked ''Can we go inside? It seems cool!'' Annabeth sighed. ''Sure, whatever.'' She said. Percy pushed open the door. It creaked as he looked inside. He determined it was safe, stepping inside. Annabeth followed him, looking around. He started looking in a closet, rummaging through the coats and boxes inside. As Annabeth looked at everything, she saw a shadow. It seemed to have the shape of a human. She stared at it, but as soon as she blinked, it was gone. She turned back to Percy, clearly shaken by what she saw. Percy was still looking through the closet, pulling out an old top hat. He put it on and started to mess around, pretending to be an old man. Annabeth watched him for a bit before a bunch of things started to move and float. They heard moaning and a humanoid shape appeared. They both froze, not being able to move from fear. A man appeared, who looked like an old noble. He was transparent and seemed to have a couple of bloody holes in his body. He seemed to be furious about them being in his mansion. Percy and Annabeth screamed and ran as he started to throw objects like coffee tables and vases. They ran into a bedroom, looking around for anything to hide in. They ran to the bed and hid under it. They heard a bunch of crashing before the bed got thrown away. They screamed, getting up and running out of the room. They ran around, getting chased by the ghost. While running they accidentally knocked down a lantern, it breaking and the carpet it landed on going up in flames. They watched as the flames rose, engulfing everything. They ran outside, narrowly escaping the fire. They watched as the mansion went up in flames before going back to their village. They decided to never tell anyone what happened before going back to their normal life.
