Beyond the Grave-crystal World
Baxter staggered out of the portal. The portal closed behind him.
- It's time... to commit that... what should have been done a long time ago..- grinning, the guy said, walking forward, and looking for Bud.
And then, Baxter caught sight of a machine gun. The guy did not hesitate to take it in his hands, and shot up.
A child's crying was heard.
Baxter staggered this way.
When he reached the cradle with the baby lying in it, Baxter stopped and thought. And is he doing the right thing now? But remembering what was waiting for this child (and the team of Baxter's friends), he decided, and pointed the muzzle of the machine gun at the cradle.
But the guy stopped.
Suddenly, a portal opened behind Baxter, and the man who came out of it ran up to Baxter and grabbed him by the breasts.
It was Baxter. I mean, the person who ran up to Baxter was himself.
- What the?...Baxter 1 said.
- Don't you dare touch him! Did you hear that?- hissed Baxter 2.
- What... are you even here? Who are you?!
- I am you, but from the future... I just have to warn you!
- About what? ...
- That you wouldn't kill Bud! Don't be stupid, please...- sighed Baxter 2. He was dressed in a long, knee-length shirt, his arms and legs were covered in dirty bandages in places.
- Since I'm here, why not?!- exclaimed Baxter 1.
- Because because of your stupid and thoughtless actions, everything can collapse!
- Be more specific.Baxter 1 tensed up.
- All the things you cherished: friends, Worlds, family... Yes, everything!
- From killing Bud?
- Yes! When will you learn to take responsibility for your actions?!..
- Okay, okay...Baxter 1 said, slowly approaching the cradle, but when he saw Baxter approaching him, he immediately stopped.- Okay, it's okay! I just want to calm him down!...
Baxter 2 stopped, shrugged his shoulders, but still remained tense inside.
- Yes, it's true..Baxter 1 chuckled, rocking the cradle.
Baxter 2 smiled nervously, nodding his head.
And then, Baxter 1, quickly picked up the fallen machine gun from the ground.
Baxter 2 rushed at Baxter 1 with a knife in his hands, instantly knocking the machine gun out of his hands and putting a knife to his throat.
- You can't...Baxter 1 croaked.
- Don't worry, the hand won't waver.Baxter 2 grinned as he got to his feet and helped Baxter 1 up.
Baxter 1 squinted at the machine, but Baxter 2 was faster. He picked up the machine gun from the ground, and fired at Baxter 1.
Baxter fell to the ground.
- You won't exist either!..- he croaked.
- I will. Because I'm not Baxter," Baxter laughed.- Didn't even recognize me in a room with not very good lighting?.. Then you're just an idiot... You're an idiot, do you hear, Baxter? I'm not you. And I never will be. Do you hear me, Baxter?!Baxter cried.- I'm not your clone!
- I would never... not killed... you...Baxter whispered.
- It depends under what circumstances.Baxter chuckled.
- Please don't hurt me... harm to mine... friends...
- I'll try.Baxter laughed. A portal opened behind him.- Bye-bye, Baxter. See you again! ..
Baxter has disappeared. The portal has closed.
