*Flashback over*

I walked through the garden of the university I attended in Brighton, England. Ive been attending this university for about a year and a half now, which meant Ive been away from my home for that long of a time. But I was glad Ive been away, Ive grown here in Brighton, Ive become the person I could never be back in Louisiana. Yeah, I did have to leave my family and friends behind when I boarded that plane few Julys ago, but sometimes you have to leave the people you love in order to live the story God wrote down for you.

I inhaled the fall air as I looked around at the autumn leaves which crinkled beneath me with every step I took. The chill in the air was growing every few minutes but I didn't mind, I liked being outside this time of day in England. It was beautiful, calming. It helped me relax a few, but also made me have flashbacks of certain encounters I have had in my 19 years of life.

I rubbed my head trying to shake out the memories back then. I couldn't have room in my brain for them anymore..I didnt want to have room in my brain for them. Call me crazy but I just don't want to relive any of those memories, they bring me heartache and grief if I think about them. Especially if they include Hunter.

I exhaled the fall air that filled my lungs. It was dark out now, if i didn't start riding back to the complex I shared with a few friends of mine they'd call the cops and form a search party. I hopped in my small car and drove to it. It was only a few minutes drive, not that far from the university's garden. The complex wasn't the nicest thing you could imagine, but it was inviting. Nothing like the home I lived in back in America. Honestly, England has felt more like a home then Louisiana ever will.

I entered the complex to find my roomies, Vanessa, Charlotte, Alex and Daniel sprawled out on the couches watching the lamest programs on the telly.

"Hey MelMel." Vanessa greeted with a welcoming smile.

What I loved about the Brits. They always seemed happy no matter what the situation.

"Hey Vay." I said taking off my coat and hanging it up in the wardrobe.

I greeted all my other friends after that asking if they needed anything while I was up. They shook their head so I made my way to the kitchen. I was starved.

I looked in the fridge, nothing that pleasing caught my eye. I checked the cupboards to find nothing but rotten bread and moist tow lets. Why.

"I guess i'll order out." I murmured as I searched for the number to Nandos.

My Nandos arrived a half an hour later and i took it to my room to devour it all in silence.

"I needed that." I thought as I discarded the containers. I turned on my radio and started on an essay due the next morning. ha procrastination.

As I was thinking of a good hook I felt myself slowly drift away onto memory lane. One of my favorite memories in actuality. With Hunter.

**Memory**

"Hunter stop! Put me down!" i laughed as i felt two muscular arms wrapping around my waist swinging me around in a circle in the grass field we were in. It was one of the many spots he would take me to be alone together. It was also one of the last places he took me before he left.

He put me down and spun me so we were face to face, breathing in sync.

He grabbed my hand and we walked to a humongous tree a few meters away and helped me climb up to one of the huge branches.

"Nice underwear." he said with a cheeky tone to his voice. Bad day to wear a summer dress i assume. I playfully slapped his shoulder as he was making his way behind me on the branch. He held me in his arms with his head resting in the crook of my neck slowly breathing. I put my hand on his arm and rubbed it with my thumb as I began to think of a new conversation starter, but that quickly changed.

Hunter sighed deeply as he spoke, "Melissa, do you think i'll make it."

"Hunter you must be crazy if you're doubting yourself. You're the most talented country singer Ive ever heard. I mean when I watch you perform in front of audiences here in Louisiana, small or big, I see how your lyrics capture their hearts." I said kissing his hand.

He brought me closer to him and kissed the top of my head.

"The only reason why my lyrics are so powerful is because you've give them meaning."

I moved myself so I was facing him now, hand on his cheek, forehead to forehead.

"I love you Hunter." I whispered letting tears escape from my eyes. "But I'm going to miss you when you go to Nashville. More then you can imagine."

He took me in his arms and stroke my hair and wiping my cheeks with his free hand. Voice shaken he managed to say in a hushed tone, "Like a wave out on the ocean, I will always come back to you."

But he never did.

**Memory over**

I was flashed back into reality as I felt warm wet tears seeping down my cheeks and onto my laptop. Why was I crying? That was three years ago.

After i had wiped my laptop, i shut it and placed it on my night table. I laid down on my pillows and went to a place where heartache and Hunter never existed,
