"Mariano? Camilo? Oh my god, Abuela-" Dolores exclaimed. Abuela looked unhappy to see me by her side.

"Well, Abuela, isn't this delightful?" I say with a strong tone of sarcasm.

"You have some tone there, little girl." She snarls. I roll my eyes, smirking to myself secretively. "Dolores, it has come to my attention that the more you spend time with this pink-headed girl, the more she influences you." She explains. My mom gasps at her choice of words. My father looks at Abuela in disbelief.

"You have some nerve to talk to my daughter that way, Alma." My mother yells, walking closer to her.

"Alma, if you have a problem with our kids, leave." My father says. Octo comes down to see Camilo standing nervously.

"Mamá, what's going on-" Octo gets cut off by my mom's gentle but sharp response.

"Not now, mi amor. Apparently, Abuela has a problem with your sister." She says, tilting her head to the side.

"Má, if she has a problem, I can deal with it." I try to lighten up the situation.

"Oh? Deal with the situation the same way you dealt with Isabela's proposal?" Abuela snaps.

"What do you-" The wash of realization hit me when I remember the night of Mariano proposing, "How do you know?" I asked.

"Mariano told me. Unlike you, he's loyal to the Madrigals. Who would ever like a disrespectful girl like YOU?!" She replies.

"Your granddaughter has a thing for me." I let out a dirty smirk. Earning a giggle from everyone except Mariano and Abuela.

"Isabela is in love with Mariano, not you. Isa is straight, and will never love a woman." She retorts.

"You sure about that? Last time I checked, you weren't Isa." I grumble, "But whatever, your petty self can walk right out the door."

Octo, now standing next to Camilo, opens the front door wide open, urging Abuela to leave the home.

"You disgrace! You even influenced my poor Octavio." She gasps. Octo looks at her in shock.

"Okay woman, first you come here to speak with my parents, and now you're running your mouth about plain assumptions? Go back to your pretty little Isabela if we bug you so much." Octo snaps.

Mariano looks directly at Dolores as she covers her ears.

"Dolores," He whispers, grabbing the attention of the curly-head, "Come with me for a walk."

Dolores escapes the house with Mariano discreetly. Walking away, looking back hesitantly at me. I give her a nod of reassurance before she finally walks off.

"Jeiji, Octavio. From now on, I want nothing to do with you. I want neither of my family talking to yours. Camilo, I'm talking about you. Including, you, Dolores." Abuela turns around to face Dolores, but it greeted with her absence.

"Awh, she got tired of your crap and left with Mariano, guess they're not the only ones tired." My family smirks, including Camilo, before we all pushed her out.

My parents look at me, my mother looked proud, and my father smiled. "Well mi vida, you have your mother's comebacks, I see." My father joked. Mother nudged him playfully before walking off into the kitchen.

I turn around to see Camilo and Octo looking at each other lovingly.

"Okay, simps. Enough lovey-dovey stuff in front of me, I'm still single." I roll my eyes playfully. Octavio slaps my arm lightly, hiding the pink tint on his cheeks. The moment was short-lived when a knock on the door was heard. Octavio says he got it, thinking it was Dolores, until he opened the door.

"Isa?!" He whisper-shouts.

"Octo, I heard Abuela came, is Jei alright? Did Abuela offend her in any way?" She asked all at once.

"Of course she's fine, she isn't weak." Octo says, annoyed. "Why are you here?

"I wanted to talk to Jeiji. Without screaming this time." She rubs her nape nervously.

"Dunno if Jei wants to talk to you, though, but I'll ask." Octo says. Isabela lets out a breath of relief before Octo shuts the door. Not even a second later, Octo opens the door, but this time, I'm next to him. I stare at Isa coldly, looking her up and down.

"Jei." She spoke up. "Could you take a walk with me?"

Octo looks at me hesitantly, then looks back at Isa.

"I think my sister's fi-" I cut him off.

"Fine." Octo looked dumbfounded at my answer, but only gave me a hug before bidding me goodbye.

I shut the door, then go on to walk ahead of Isa.

"So.. Uh." She hesitates. "I heard about Dolores walking off with Mariano." I hummed as an answer, not paying much attention. "Do you think you can help me... get them together?"

I stop in my tracks. I now stood in front of her, silence surrounded us.

"What?" I asked, and she repeated herself.

"Do you wanna help me get Dolores and Mariano together?"

"What do I get in return?"

"Um.." Isa thought for a second, before stopping as she heard my light chuckles. "What's so funny, Jei?" she raises an eyebrow.

I turn around, before speaking up once more. "Here's the deal, if Dolores and Mariano get together, then you'll have to help me get Camilo and Octo together, too." I say, extending my arm out. She looked quite please with my deal, and took my hand.

"Deal."

The day after we made our deal, we decided to meet up secretly, knowing Abuela wouldn't be pleased at my presence.

"Soo... what's the plan?" She asks me.

"Dunno, you tell me." I smirk. She rolls her eyes at me before asking me how I've been. "I could be better, and you?"

"Same, I guess." She replies.

"Why did you ask me to help you with 'Dariano'" I questioned. She giggles.

"Dariano? Is that Dolores and Mariano's name together?" She asked.

"Well obviously, you wouldn't like Misabela, would you?" I tease.

"Misabela?! That is so bad, oh my god." She covers her face in second-hand embarrassment.

"Good point, never using that again." I say. She laughs in agreement, before we take our spot at the river.

"Did you know that this is where Abuela got her miracle." Isabela said.

"Mhm, did you know she said you were straight?" I laugh. Isabela gasps dramatically.

"How dare she? My oh my, the look on her face will be horrific when she finds out none of us are straight." She giggles. She stretches her arms out, falling into a relaxed position.

"And what exactly do you mean by that, Isabela?" A voice behind us was heard. Isabela sat upright immediately, fear painting her expression. I turn around, and speaking of the devil, here she is.

"Abuela." I say.

"What did I say about hanging around my family, De Leon." She snaps. The use of my last name was new, but I was in no situation to care.

"Abuela, I can explain-" Isabela stuttered out.

"There is nothing to explain. I will talk to your mother about this. You are straight and nothing else, understand?" Abuela boomed, not allowing another word. Isa only nods, before getting up from her former spot. "And you, Jeiji. Stay away from my granddaughter."

She looked at me with such hatred, I almost felt bad. I looked at Isabela, waving her goodbye, before both figures were out of sight. I let out a sigh.

'Don't worry, Abuela, I'll change your mind about me soon.' I thought to myself.
