Kathrine

It's been a week and lady Katherine and I have been discussing anything and everything, I'm glad that she trusts me enough to share her feelings with me after only a week.

I know she's been down since her marriage was arranged and continues to be loveless and yet she feels stuck even though her husband isn't currently around. I wanted to do something for her that hopefully cheers her up, seeing that she enjoys her time outside I thought that we could go stargazing.

I packed a basket, ready to go. Now I just have to wait for tonight, preferably around midnight when everyone is asleep. "Good morning Kathrine" I state walking into the room to open the shutters like every morning. She grumbles. "You left again." She states, she's been asking me to stay but I can't stay after 11 since then everyone is expected to be in their rooms, asleep. "I stayed as long as I could." I say and she huffs rolling onto her side.

"I have a surprise planned." I state and she perks up tilting her head ever so slightly. "What is it?" She asks and I shake my head. "A surprise only stays a surprise if it's not revealed." I offer and she groans. "You should know that I hate surprises just because of that reason, by now." She complains.

I chuckle as she walks into the dressing room. "I know but you'll like it. It's going to be worth the wait." I tell and she looks over her shoulder to look at me. "How do you know if I'll like it?" She asks smirking at me. I shrug and start tying her corset. "I've just started to know you." I state and she hums with an amused smirk. "Have you now?" The lady queries and I bow my head. "Yes." I state and she hums once more before getting called out by Anna to do whatever it is she always does before she has free time.

The day passes on quickly with all the conversations I'm having with Kathrine. We head outside followed by dinner, I help her with her bath and eventually it's time for Kathrine to go to bed so she's in her dressing room waiting for me.

I walk in with the basket "Y/n, I've been waiting for 10 minutes, where were you?" She asks and I chuckle holding up the basket. "I was getting your surprise, ma'am." I state and she quirks her eyebrow. I point my hand towards the outside of the room and she looks at me confused. "Let's go for a nightly stroll, shall we madame?" I query and she grins gripping my hand and pulling me outside.

Once outside I walk towards the woods where I spotted a place where there was a gap between the trees so you could still see the sky clearly. I help Kathrine get there and place down the blanket. "Let's sit, ma'am." I offer handing her a blanket to wrap around herself.

I sit beside her and lay back, looking up through the gap to the stars. She lays beside me, wrapping herself around my arm, as she looks up taking in the stars. "You were right." She murmurs. I turn my head to look at her. "You were right. I do like it." She explains and I offer a smile. We look up at the stars some more when Kathrine scoots closer. Laying her head onto my shoulder, tucking it into my neck. I keep looking up, not questioning what she's doing.

After a while she slowly pulls away from me and props herself onto her elbow looking at me. "Y/n" she calls and I mimic her pose. "Yes, ma'am?" I ask and she seems to be thinking about something. She leans a tiny bit closer, I look at her, cautiously observing what she's doing. She moves closer.

"Kathrine" I manage to say and she looks at me. "What are you doing?" I ask and she just keeps moving closer. She stops, inches from my face. "You're married" I mumble and she hums. "We shouldn't." I say quietly despite wanting to kiss her.

She sighs and nods pulling away from me. She leans on me instead, her head on my shoulder. I sigh at how wrong our situation is and go to stand up. "What are you doing?" Kathrine asks and I close my eyes to be able to build a sentence and not just stammers. "We should get back inside." I state and she furrows her brow. "Y/n what are you talking about. This is great. I don't want to go back inside yet." She says and I sigh but settle back next to her.

I feel Kathrine shiver. "Kathrine you're cold, let's go back inside" I offer and she looks around. "Promise me, you'll take me here again" she attempts and I give her a nod. "I promise, but let's head inside now before you catch a cold." I say and she holds her hand out. I chuckle and pull her up.

We head inside and I help her into her night dress. She lays into bed and tells me to stay like every night.  I stay as long as possible before heading out of the room, to my own.

I can't seem to fall asleep at all. She tried to kiss me and I stopped her, I'm not sure if that was smart or just stupid but either way it was right in my head. She's married and two women would be absurd, it's not accepted by anyone so it would ruin the Lester reputation if we'd get seen together.  I mean, I could care less about their reputation but they give me a job with a place to stay which is good enough for me.

I somehow regret that I stopped her. I want  to know what it would've been like.

Her soft lips on mine.

With that though I finally doze off.
