It was just another afternoon. You were sitting on your front porch, looking a little down. A lot was going through your mind, and all you wanted to do now was cry. Your eyes started to sting with tears. (Fucking hell I'm bad at intros like this ;-;)
"Hello, Y/N."
A familiar voice greets you. You look to your side to see Dave, smiling. "How have you been?" He asks. You didn't want him to be worried, so you lie. "Oh! I-I've been doing ok..." you say, plastering a fake smile across your face. "Are you sure...?" He asks. You nod. "Y/N..." Dave says. "You can tell me anything. I'm here for you, never forget that." He says, trying to comfort you. Your eyes started to sting with tears. Suddenly, you couldn't hold it in any longer, and you started to cry.
"Hey...What's the matter, sunshine?" Dave asks, worried. "Dave...why does my life feel like such a lie...? Like everyone is against me...? Just...why...?" You say, tears falling down your face. Dave looks at you, feeling sad too. "I know how you feel. Sometimes, it's like life is your enemy because it always throws hard obstacles at you. But we overcome them. That's what makes us who we are, Y/N. Don't ever forget that." Dave says.
You feel a little better and safe after hearing those words. Feeling grateful, you start crying some more, but they're not sad tears; they're happy tears. "T-thank you..." you say, your voice trembling a little. You hug Dave. "Hey, it's ok, Y/N. Just let it out, ok?" He says. You cry some more, while Dave comforts you by holding you close and patting you on the head. "I'll always be here for you when you need it. Ok, Y/N?" Dave says. "Ok. Thanks again, Dave. I'm so grateful to have someone like you in my life." You say. Dave smiles and says, "No problem, my dear." He holds you close, as you feel warm and protected in Dave's arms, feeling better than you were before.
