Y/N POV:

We go to a burger joint. It's pretty empty, so it's easy for us to get a table.

"Two beers," Tory orders.

"We need to see ID," The waitress says.

Tory pulls out a fake ID and hands it to her.

"If you weren't so damn cute I wouldn't give you the beers," The waitress flirts.

"Careful. I've got quite the overprotective girlfriend," Tory warns as I give the waitress a death glare.

"Of c-c-course," She stutters as she grabs us some beers.

She runs back to the counter so it's just us at the table.

"Cheers," Tory says.

"Cheers," I say as we clang our bottles together.

I almost gag when I drink another swig of beer. It's really heavy.

"Too much for you to handle?" She teases.

"Never," I gag as I take another swig of beer. She laughs.

"How are you?"

"I'm... I'm good. My mom got out of rehab. I stay with her now," I smile.

"I'm happy for you."

"Thanks. How's your mom?" I ask.

"Not good," She sighs.

"I'm sorry," I say. I shouldn't have brought it up.

"It's okay. I know my mom. She'll get better," She says positively.

"Yeah," I say.

"Let's change the subject," She says. I nod.

"How's school going?" I ask.

"I actually have straight A's! Even in math! That shit crazy!" She says excitedly.

"You should tutor me. I have a C," I laugh.

"Only if you're lucky, L/N," She teases.

"Alright, alright," I laugh.

We get our sandwiches and she immediately dives in.

"It's so good!" She says between mouthfuls.

"I know right!" I laugh as I take small bites of mine.

"There's so much mayo on it!" She says as she swallows a chunk of mayo.

"That sucks," I say.

"Never said it was a bad thing!" She laughs.

We finish our sandwiches and I pay the bill.

"Where are we going now?" I ask her.

"You'll see," She drives us somewhere.

It's an abandoned beach. There's a part in the back where you can actually walk on the sand.

"Race you!" She giggles and we run towards the sand.

We sit down in the sand and gaze at the night sky.

"It's beautiful, isn't it? Watching the waves at night?" She says and we look at the waves.

The moon gleams on them. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

"It's wonderful," I whisper.

"I love you, Y/N," She says.

We hold hands as I look at her.

"I love you too, Tory," I say.

We kiss. Just us and the waves. The world collapses as if it's just us. And that's the way it should be.
