Anyone who was acquainted with Bellatrix Lestrange knew her to be a hollow pit of insanity, a lost and devious monster. There's no denying that she undoubtedly was all of these things, but she was also just a broken girl with a longing for requited love, one that could not be found in her parents and one that certainly could not be found within an arranged marriage. But, one that had the potential to be found in motherhood. Let it not be mistaken, Bellatrix Black did not have a maternal bone in her skeleton, nor did she deserve her children; but ultimately she searched her whole life for love and they were her one chance. First came Atlas, then Odette and last but not least, Astra and for a brief moment it seemed like they had saved her and that was perhaps what she deserved all along, she just needed saving.

Now enough about Bellatrix Lestrange, for this is not her story, lord knows no amount of words can bring that woman redemption. I know, i know, i've changed my tune extremely fast it seems. But you see, there comes a point where the villain is just the villain and no amount of insight into what did or didn't make them evil becomes pointless for that does not change the pain they have caused. No, this story is reserved for the Lestrange children, the ones who deserved a chance, the chance to escape the life of endless damage that comes with being a Lestrange. Alas, it seems I'm getting too far ahead of myself, best not to spoil the ending before the story has even began. But a word of warning from your author- this tale does not end the way the Lestrange children deserve.

A/N: face claim for young Bellatrix is Nina dobrev :) First chapter out eek, let me know what you think so far, Birdie <3
