"He's coming back?"

...

"Excellent, I always believed he was still alive," softly said the shaped silhouette of a man.

His face—masked with a tint of curiosity, slight relief but also with concern.

It felt like a blur when a tattered amount of small paper was thrown in his face with a loud "Welcome back!" ringing in his ears.

"อะไรนรก?!" exclaimed the said male as multiple pairs of arms wrapped around his neck as he crashed onto the floor from the heavy weight weighing on him.

"We missed you wahhhhh!"
"Did you write to Mum and Dad back during your trip?!"
"Now now children," chuckled the coal-haired mother, "(Y/N) just came back, don't make him more tired!"

The younger ones pouted, their hands still clinging on to their big brother.

The only one who kept their hand from their brother was the oldest daughter in the Kamado family, Nezuko.

She beamed brightly at her older brother, her eyes shone with comical tears and her hands were clasped on her locks, (Y/N) was concerned that she was going to yank her hair out if she cried.

The only member the oldest son didn't notice was the auburn haired boy, Tanjiro.

He looked around the room but to no avail he had found him.

"Where's Tan?"

The two parents in the living room only sighed.

"He's coming, he's been trying to hog up his studying timetable so that he can spend time with you," explained Tanjuro, wrapping his arm around his wife's shoulder.

For the past hour or so, the family gathered around the dining table as they passed each other gifts and waited for the second oldest son to come to join them before they ate.

The youngsters and the parents adored the gifts the oldest bought, thankfully.

Nezuko and others gave him handmade letters and drawings for him as a gift from them, to say he cried was an understatement, he almost flooded the house.

Yume was reading the letters out loud for (Y/N) since she was quite uninterested with the family's conversation.

"'I miss you (Y/N), if you didn't come back I would've bitch slapped you in the face'," read the demon out loud, she let out a 'tsk'. "Damn, since when did you teach them how to swear?"
"No comment," answered the (h/c) haired male briskly.

It was later that Tanjiro came downstairs to get a cup of water and he caught sight of his oldest brother.

In a fit of delight, he let the liquid in the glass holder drop to the floor with glass sound effects banging in the room as the younger male jumped into his brother's embrace.

"IMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOUIMISSEDYOU—!" cried the young boy as his tears wetted his brother's shirt.
"I missed you too Maroon," grinned (Y/N) as he tried to make his brother stop hugging him.

Tanjiro released his brother but rubbed his runny nose against the back of his arm, this made the oldest Kamado son crack a small smile.

He missed them too, he doesn't show it much, but he deeply cared for his family.

The usual laughter that filled the room wasn't toxic nor did it have a demonic stenches smell when fighting demons, no, his home felt welcoming and filled the empty part of him with comfort.

Now that all the Kamado family members were in the room, the children started to ask the eldest son questions about his time in other Asian countries (for some parts, he had to lie, which didn't help the guilt in his stomach).

Yume would pipe in here and there during conversations, which led to some confusion in the family except (Y/N).

"Mum, the surprise! Oh do tell him about it please!" begged Nezuko, her hands clasped giddily as her eyes widened with delight.

Surprise—?

Yume was also confused with her companion, wanting to see what this 'surprise' was, she climbed on top of one of the spare chairs near (Y/N) and perched on it.

Kie Kamado released an angelic laugh and her husband grinned gently.

Tanjiro and Nezuko seemed thrilled.

However—Takeo, Hanako, Shigeru and Rokuta had a downcast look across their faces. It was as if they had been hoping not to bring the topic up.

This made the demon slayer anxious.

"(Y/N), ever since you called us that you're coming back, Tanjiro and Nezuko pleaded with us if you can go to their school," said the father of the Kamado family.
The coal-haired woman piped in, "KNY Academia is such a good school too if you are wondering."
Shigeru only huffed, "They suck at covering up incidents!"
"Now now Shigeru, it's not the only school that has been going through criminal attacks."

Criminal attacks? pondered the (h/c) haired, It screams demons.

Tanjiro and Nezuko hugged his sides as their pupils held with the powerful puppy eyes he hadn't seen for years.

"Oh please (Y/N)! You can come and eat with us at lunch and even help with our homework—!"
"Yeah, the last one I'm definitely not doing that," interrupted (Y/N).

Yume and the younger siblings cackled at their crestfallen faces.

"But are you willing to go?" asked Tanjuro, his one hand gripping on his wife's whilst the other reaching out for (Y/N)'s. "You don't have to, we can always find you another school."
"I'll think about it."

"Are you willing to show him around the school?"
"Yes mam!"
