"Do you know how to use your magic?" He asks, assumingly trying to see where your level is at. Clearly, if you were going to fight, you're going to have to know how to actually use your powers. About that... there was a huge problem.
"I... wasn't permitted to try them out in the village." You tell him, putting your hand onto your other arm, a little regretful that you've never even gotten a chance to see them. You could've broke the rules but, you were scared.
Not scared about others or about the rules in the place but... scared of your own power. If everyone around is clearly terrified of it, obviously it's going to be something dangerous. You were worried that it might go out of control and instead of the general coming to kill your kind, you might've accidentally done it yourself.
"Then what do you know? Martial Arts? Swordsmanship? Or do you prefer ranged attacks better?" He asks, seemingly implying that he was knowledgeable in those combat styles. And again, you weren't permitted to use your powers, let alone fight using your hands.
"Childe. I get that you'd want to help them but, slow down. Do keep in mind that they had just woken up from a decade of sleep." Mona tells him, having a strict look on her face as she sits down on a floating magic circle, making the perfect chair.
"I'm not some sort of Sleeping Beauty. If I get out of this place without knowing how to fight, then I might as well stay and die on my own before I get killed by something out there." You say, a little thankful that Mona told him to slow down but, what would that achieve? Something could literally kill the three of you at any given moment. Mona then sighs.
"You two... are painfully similar. Fine. Childe, teach them your swordsmanship and archery. I'll teach them how to conjure basic magic spells." She says, looking slightly upset that you talked back to her. You wanted to apologize but, something tells you that isn't such a good idea right now.
"(y/n), watch my movements first, okay? Then try to replicate it with what you have." Childe says, getting his fists into position as his vision was glowing a faint light.
"What I have? I don't even have a weapon!" You yell, a little panicked thinking that he might just charge at you all of a sudden and you don't even have any means of defending yourself. No control in your abilities, no prior hand-to-hand combat knowledge, you were basically nothing but an insect, or even lower than that.
"...Mona. I guess you're up first." Childe calms down, exhaling as he flashes you a little smile, looking as if he just realized that the thing he was going to teach you were practically useless without you knowing anything.
