"We're here!" Uncle Matthew exclaimed, pulling open the van door.
"Yay!" My cousin Cameron cheered, jumping out.
I took in all the colours and the huge rides. I heard people screaming from the top of the roller coaster, and music blaring so loud I wanted to cover my ears. This was the first time I'd ever been to an amusement park and as much as I hate to admit it, I was kind of scared.
"Are you coming, Jordan?" Uncle Matthew asked. I nodded my head and got out.
"So where would you girls like to go first?" He asked, after we got through the gates.
"Umm..." I tug on a strand of my blonde hair.
"The roller coaster!" Cammie said excitedly and a little fear creeped into me.
"I don't want to go on that! You always get to pick." I whined.
"Well that's because I'm older than you." She replied. "I'm seven and five monthes old while you're five and two weeks old."
"You're always so exact." I complained. She glanced up at her dad.
"I didn't add on the days or hours yet but if you want I-"
"That's okay Cammie. Let's let Jordan pick first today." Uncle Matthew interrupted.
We walked around for awhile just looking at the rides, games and food carts. Now that I had been given the chance to choose first I didn't know how to use it. I glance around and finally I see something I can handle. The Merry Go Round.
"I want to go on that." I point to it. We head towards the ride and the cheery music greets us.
"Cammie, take these tickets to get on the ride. I have to go check something. If the ride is done before I am back just wait around here." Uncle Matthew said.
"Okay. C'mon Jordan!" She said, tugging me into the line. We got on and I could see Uncle Matthew watching us. Once I am sitting on my brown plastic horse I watch my uncle walk away. Where did he have to go?
The ride makes two complete circles and by now I am full of curiosity. I can still see the back of his head. If I'm quick enough maybe I could follow him...
"Where are you going?" Cam asked, watching me clamber off my horse.
"I'm going to follow your dad."
"But he said-"
"Cammie, don't you want to see? It could be a game! We follow him without getting caught." I smiled, knowing that this will win her over. She loves this game. We did this once with Grandma Morgan to see where she hid the cookies. Although that was in a small house and this was a huge area.
"Okay." She said, jumping off her horse more gracefully than I did. "We have to be really careful though."
"Yeah. I got it. Let's go." We jumped off the ride and skipped into the crowd. We pushed through the mass of bodies, searching for the familiar man.
"I see him!" Cammie whispered excitedly in my ear.
"Where?" I asked. She pointed towards a stand selling cotton candy. My stomach growled. I started to walk closer to him but Cam's hand grabbed my shirt sleeve.
"What are you doing?" She hissed.
"I was going to follow him."
"He'll see you if you get any closer! Dad will be harder to follow than Grandma Morgan!"
"Ok. Sorry." I apologized. She patted my shoulder. I looked back to the stall. He was on the move. We carefully trailed him. After about two minutes and thirty seven seconds (Cammie told me) he turned around and started back. "Cammie, what do we do! He's going to see us!"
