Luke strode up confidently to the cabin and knocked.

"I am not here." A voice inside growled.

Luke laughed, "Oh come on, Patrick. I need your help."

"Oh well, in that case... Go away!!!"

Luke snorted, "Patrick, unless you want the god of the dead showing up and wrecking this place, you better let us in."

"God of the- are you... you have got to be kidding me!"

The man- Patrick- wrenched open the door, and glowered at us.

"Hey Patrick, long time no see."

Patrick reached out and yanked us in, slamming the door behind us. "Don't you 'long time no see' me" He walked across the room and sank down into his chair. Luke grinned at me before settling down on the couch opposite Patrick.

For the first time, Patrick noticed me. "Where did you find this?" He asked.

I raised an eyebrow. My power spiking and making the lights in the room flicker. "I beg your pardon?"

Patrick examined me with a new found respect, "Ahh... Tell me witch, how did you get that pretty leash around your neck?"

Okay, straight to the point I guess. I looked to Luke for some help. Luke glanced at me, then sat forward.

"Actually that is why we are here. Its serrated with demon poison. I can only think of one way to get it off, and I don't think it will be very pleasant for her."

Patrick stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Have you kissed her?"

Luke wrapped his arm protectively around my waist. "Yes. Not only did it hurt her, it influenced me as well."

Patrick leaned forward. "Really? Influenced how?"

Nervously, Luke glanced at me, then continued. "My feelings were increased. It was almost impossible to stop."

Patrick was silent for a long moment. "I see. And what exactly was it that you hoped to gain by coming here?"

"To find out if you knew of a safe way to remove Bella's necklace."

Patrick looked solemnly at him, "Well, in that case... you may as well leave while you can. The only way to remove the leash is to have sex with her."

I gasped aloud and Patrick raised an eyebrow, "Of course it would only work if you have feelings for her. And the witch would be in a significant amount of pain. Might even kill her."

"You just don't have any verbal filter do you?"

Patrick just raised an eyebrow at me, "I do not get paid for pretty words, little witch. I give information."

I started to say something, but gasped when my necklace tightened- choking me. Luke watched me anxiously until I relaxed.

"Anubis, must be close."

Patrick glanced over at me, "Then you two had better be off then. You can stay in the basement tonight, but tomorrow I want the both of you long gone." Patrick opened a secret door that was hidden among the floorboards. "Get some rest, I will see what I can find out about your pretty little leash."

I was lying next to Luke, my eyes increasingly growing heavy. It wasn't long before I slipped into my dream.

"Find her!" Anubis roared, sending two servants flying across the room. "She has the necklace how hard can it be to find her?" He seized another servant, who cowered as Anubis shook him by the collar.

"I- I am not sure master. She still being protected by the sheer force of another aura." The servant stammered, cringing as Anubis threw him across the room as well.

Anubis stiffened, turning to face my direction, a smile slowly breaking out on his face. "Silence!" He shouted, his eyes searching for me. "Everyone out." He paused a  moment and when no one moved, he cursed. "Now!" They scattered, each desperate not to be the last to leave the room.

When they had left, I cautiously stepped out from where I was hiding, and Anubis' pupils contracted. "You have to stop this Anubis." I cautioned him, "If you continue with this I am afraid it will end badly for both of us."

Anubis smiled, flexing his hand, and I gagged as the necklace tightened around my throat. "You and I have very different ideas of how this will end." he murmured, taking a step towards me.

I fell to my knees, fighting against the pull of the necklace. "Why, Anubis? Why would you so desperately  want me when I have no desire for you?"

Anubis knelt down next to me. "You fight the inevitable, Bella. You and I are destined to be together, so we shall."

I shook my head, "You're wrong. I'm getting this damned thing off, and then you will never see me again." I pushed away from him, murmuring a quick spell to wake up.

I sat straight up, forcing my breathing to return to normal before I shook Luke awake. I held a finger to my mouth to get him to stay quiet, "Anubis is close. Very close." I whispered. Luke sat up, his eyes scanning the room.

"How can you tell?"

I pointed to my necklace, "I can feel it. Luke you need to cast a spell to keep me quiet and still. I won't be able to resist him as easily as I did last time. do you understand?"

Luke swallowed, "Okay." he murmured, guiding us into a far corner. "Lazir serratus nadine." he whispered. The force of the spell knocked me off my feet, but Luke caught me, easing me down to the floor. He flexed his hand, calling his staff and taking up a defensive position in front of me. My body siezed up and my eyes rolled into the back of my head as I felt Anubis burst through Patrick's front door.

"Patrick." he growled, grabbing him by the throat, "Where is she?"

Patrick gasped for breath, kneeling over when Anubis released him. "My lord," he rasped, "What a pleasant surprise."

My energy was rapidly reducing as my body fought against Luke's spell, the necklace pulling me towards the sound of Anubis' voice. Luke cradled my head as my body slowly convulsed. "Hang on," he whispered.

"Don't play games with me, Patrick. I know Bella came to you looking for a way to get the necklace off. You're the only one who would  know how, as you were the one who created it in the first place."

I shook my head violently as Luke's spell began to break. "No." I cried, my voice breaking, tears starting to stream down my cheeks as my body went limp. The necklace tightened, Anubis' fury causing the necklace to send white hot flashes of agony through me. I gritted my teeth, unable to stop the weak cry of pain.

"I heard her! Where is she? Patrick I will burn this place to the ground, if you don't tell me where she is!" Anubis yelled.

"Okay, time to go." Luke said, wrapping his arms around me. I shook violently as my body burned where he touched me. He pulled me to his chest, murmuring a spell to get us out. My necklace contracted around my neck cutting off my oxygen supply until my vision went black.
