Washington's POV
It was the end of dawn. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming. (on days like these kids like u-) I was quite cranky and agitated and did not plan on getting up rather early. So I decided to try sleeping in more. 'This feels rather cozy....' I thought to myself. 'But I should rather wake up soon to get breakfast..."
Breakfast....breakfast....
Breakfast..?
.....
...
ADAMS!
By grace how stubborn could I be to forget my gift to Sir John Adams from last night!? I quickly got myself prepare and changed myself to look presentable, as I'd hope I would not be late for my meet up with Sir Adams!
I later found him outside in the local Inn waiting for me, I felt oh so exhausted and worn out by all that running, I sure hoped I didn't look like a dog who hasn't been bathed in 2 weeks. I than walked up to Sir John Adams as he was patiently waiting for me. He turned around and gave a small smile. "Ahh George. You're just in time," I nodded. "Come along with me to the shack, for the maids there make wonderful meals!", he followed me to get to the shack which was not too far away, as it was rather quite a short walk there.
When we got inside, it was warm and filled with locals eating, the smell of ham and bacon made my stomach growl and my mouth watery. I unfortunately didn't eat last night so I urged for a meal.
A waiter than took us to the next available table as we than sat in the wooden barrels with our wide table. "Oh my Washington, you did not need to company me to Breakfast." John smiled at me while looking away. "Oh but what a fool I would be if I didn't decide to accompany you. After all.." I than took his hand into gratitude and then looked into those warm, blue ocean eyes of his. "If it were not for your actions that meeting, I would not be serving this wonderful Congress." I than smiled at him, truly showing my thankfulness towards this kind man. He was quite red but I would say that I was having equal feelings right at the moment. I than realized that I was rather too close to his face and immediately sat back down embarrassed. "O-Oh my!" I exclaimed in pure embarrassment. "I do apologize for being unprofessional there."
I than noticed that a couple of seconds later Sir John Adams responded. "N-n-no no don't be sorry. How about we start choosing our meals for today hmm?", "Right!.." I nodded.
Later the maids than gave us a wonderful meal of seasoned bacon served with bass soup with chopped and roasted potatoes, a serving size salad for the both of us, and some coffee. "My my Lieutenant Washington, this is quite a fortune just for this meal." Sir Adams looked worried, and although it was going to be quite a handful of money to pay the meal, I didn't mind. "Well I did say it was MY treat so go on, help yourself Sir!" I smiled before serving myself the majority of the food.
Breakfast was over and me and Adams had exited the restaurant, we were both quite famished from eating. "I sure hoped you enjoy the meal." I winked at him out of giddy and pride. He than proceeded to chuckle a bit. "I did Washington I did. Well I best be on my way back home, still in Boston but I like to keep my information hidden from the public. We will meet again soon." He than proceeded to walk towards his horse and than off that horse went.
I'm not sure why but there was just something about Sir Adams that I enjoy..
Really enjoy..
