Don't anger the queen

Sneering the newly appointed queen looked down upon the cloaked person in her throne room. It wasn’t bad enough that her so called friends arrived moments before to stop her antics to reunite with the one person she loved the most, no, now she also had to deal with the literal darkness in person. Just moments before she was the one pointing swords at the people in the room and gave them an ultimatum, to join her great empire or perish trying to stand against her. Of course her morally good friends declined which made her blood boil and a huff of anger escape her throat. She could hear the voice inside telling her to make them pay, make them see what they were siding against and make them pay in blood. At first, she only meant to scare them, hunt them for a bit until they came to their senses. But the more she put her plan in action the more the voice inside her head seemed to take control, turning her more and more violent, demanding blood. Soon she would only be a puppet, watching this entity pilot her body like a mech suit.

In the background she could faintly make out the silhouette of Matt, her eyes flickering between her usual bluish purple and the grey that seeped over her body when she embraced the darkness. But any kind of remorse and guilt was quickly snuffed out by the voice in her head yelling at the girl to focus on the task or else Jason would be lost forever. With a heavy heart she descended the steps towards the group of people, them throwing things at her like ‘stop, this isn’t you,’ and ‘you can still stop this before you do even more damage.’ Making short eye contact with king Rex, her face broke out into a grin, and she took a hold of Matt, who was in the process of turning and backing up from the grinning girl. Any arguments he threw at the seething female fell on deaf ears and the people in the room had to witness in horror when Tikki pulled out a sword from under her cape. Tightening her grip on the fighter she looked back towards the others one last time before she plunged her sword deep into Matts’ chest.

Staring at the female before him he let his gaze wander down towards the sword before letting out a deafening scream, his hands shooting up to his neck to claw at the female’s hand which had a death grip around his neck, letting little to no air flow into his lungs. He could swear his heartrate turned into thundering booms and sped up at least 3 times. The more he gasped the more pain his body seemed to be in. Soon enough he was getting dizzy, and his head lulled backwards. Disgusted the girl released her grip on the boy’s neck and he fell to the ground like a wet cloth, feeling the blade glide out of his body. His chest felt like it was bursting, and he could feel the blood flowing through his body. On his sides the floor was quickly turning red, a puddle of blood forming under his body that spread outwards quickly. He desperately tried to take in a few breaths, now that the female wasn’t holding his neck anymore but the more he tried, the more his lung seemed to close off, not letting much air come into his body.

Suddenly a painful cough wracked the man’s body, and he could feel a thick liquid run over his chin and drip onto his clothes. Faintly he could register a pair of hands pressing onto his chest, and in the background, he could hear laughing and screams but his head hurt too much to concentrate on the contents of the voices. His entire body hurt like it was on fire, spreading all over his limbs but the worst pain was centred around his chest. His pulse felt like it tripled in speed, and he thought his heart was going to burst out of his chest any second now. In an instant his vision began to flicker, splashes of black seeping in the picture and colourful blobs dancing before his eyes.

Faintly he could feel a pair of hands settling on his head and lifting it up, but the pain was too much, the fancy blobs slowly fading into black nothingness, making him whine at the loss of colour. In the meantime the room fell mostly silent, the only thing that could be heard were the shallow breaths of the knight and the manic laughter the queen released. Next, the boy realised that the volume around him got quieter, like someone turned down nature into a dull muffling. Slowly all the noises got overtaken by a high-pitched ringing, making him scream from pain. At last, he could feel his limbs grow heavier, making him unable to move and hardly breath. In his panic his breaths picked up speed again, but it only made his lung fill with more blood until finally after a few last chokes the boy went still, ceasing all breathing and movement, his vision fading into complete blackness and the ringing finally getting stopped.

Slowly the nether king set down the dead soldier, looking up at the grinning queen who seemed more than content with her accomplishment and the emotions she drew out of the ones who had to witness the incident. Standing up he set a few wobbly steps towards her, shock still dominating his body, but as soon as the girl whipped her head around to look at him, he froze, genuinely scared of something for the first time in his life. The bloody blade still in hand the queen took a step in his direction before pointing the weapon at the witnesses. ‘Now leave while you still can, run as fast as you can, I will hunt you, you saw what I am capable of. I will hunt you all and I won’t leave survivors.’’

Watching them scramble to leave the castle she turned when they were no longer in her line of sight. She then made her way back to the throne, to deal with the unwanted, but observing visitor. To her surprise only her henchman was left in the room, sitting obediently where he should be. Absentmindedly she patted his head and sat back down again, the blood still on her hands and weapon and now also on the robot’s head. The corpse still on the castles floor. She needed to make her dog clean up but that would have to wait until she finally came back to her senses.
