June 15, 2015: This one was requested by Bel_Silverleaf. Also, this one includes a name since it was specifically requested (along with an alternate ending; all dwarves live after BOTFA). Enjoy!
You, Isabellana (Bel), meet the dashing Fili at his Birthday Ball.
"Isabellana!" Bel heard her father's loud, powerful voice echo throughout the halls of Mirkwood.
While adjusting the stiff costume, Bel looked at her reflection in the mirror. She saw the features her dwarven mother and elven father had given to her; the prominent cheek bones, silky, silver hair, and, even though she inhered her mother's short height, Bel still gave off the feeling of poise and grace.
She glanced at the angel wings she had put on for the costume ball.
Content with how the wings appeared, Bel walked descended down the multiple staircases to reach her impatiently waiting half-brother and father.
"There you are, Bel." Legolas sighed with relief as he saw Isabellana appear in front of him. "We must make haste. We can't be late to this ball."
Bel became irritated with Thranduil and Legolas mentioning the 'importance of the costume ball.' Groaning, she asked, "Why must we go to this ball?"
Thranduil's tall figure towered over hers, grabbing her shoulder as if he were trying to explain something to a small child. "It is an old friend's birthday. Also, this is the first time I have been able to see Bilbo and the dwarves since, well, a long time." Thranduil brought his hand to his chin, pondering upon his thoughts. "Do you know of Bilbo and the dwarves?"
Bel nodded. "Yes, they went on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain. But I don't see why we have to dress up to attend this friend's birthday ball."
"Fili wanted to have a costume party." Legolas replied.
Bel raised an eyebrow. "Fili?"
"The friend of ours."
Thranduil grew tired of his children's conversation. "We must go now."
Complying with what their father had said, Legolas and Bel exited the halls of their home.

Bel and her family walked into what must of been the dining hall, all while admiring the stonework of the dwarves.
The party was already commencing and numerous dwarves were sitting down at long tables, along with a few dwarves offensively dressed as elves. They even had fake pointy ears on. Bel just laughed, while her brother and father's cheeks turned a hue of pink.
Finding the spots they were assigned to, Bel, Legolas, and Thranduil quickly sat themselves down.
A dwarf stood up on a table and, in a rowdy fashion, called out for the people to pay attention to him. All heads turned to face him as he started to smile.
He started, "It's an honor to have my family and friends here together for the first time in a few years. Thank you for coming for my birthday! However, I can't tell if you are dressed up as fools or are the fools." This earned the laughter of the crowd, and, with the comment about his birthday, Bel knew that the dwarf was Fili. "Let us drink ale and dance!" The crowd of dwarves roared with excited screams.
Fairly soon, ale was placed on the table for everyone to drink. Bel, knowing she would not be affected by the alcohol, drank the ale.
Although it was not to be compared to the wine of Mirkwood, she still enjoyed the strong flavor.
In between sips of the drink, Bel noticed Legolas and Thranduil had left her to weave in and out the crowds, to find their friends.
Bel just sighed, tapping her fingers rhythmically on the table, waiting for the party to be over.
She reached out for another mug of ale, trying to pretend she was having a good time. However, Bel pulled her hand back when she felt the warm contact of another hand on hers.
Her cheeks turned red when she realized that it was the dwarf who had given the speech.
Bel hadn't been able to see the features Fili had before, but now she saw his striking pale eyes, angular face, and dark blond hair and beard.
Trying to talk through her shyness, Bel mumbled, "You're Fili, right?"
He nodded. "I am, and you must be an angel. You even have angel wings!"
"I, um, I'm Isabellana. You can call me Bel." she continued quietly, comtemplating leaving.
Fili pointed at Thranduil. "Is he your father?" he asked.
"Yes." Bel replied, starting to scoot slowly away from the attractive dwarf that was making her uncomfortable.
Fili saw what Bel was trying to do and moved in the same direction she was. "You don't have to be afraid of me."
She shook her head in protest. "Oh, but I do!" Then, in between sips of ale, she said, "You're harassing me."
Fili placed a hand over his heart and faked a hurt expression. "Your words hurt me. When did talking to a pretty girl become such an indecent act?"
Bel shrugged, her lack of social skills getting in the way once more.
"If I asked you to dance, would you say yes?" Fili asked.
"Maybe, you actually have to ask me."
With that, Fili stood from his spot and held his arm forward for Bel to take.
Bel cautiously looked around to see if any person were staring at Fili and her. Eyeing no one in particular, she stood up and accepted Fili's offer.
They walked up to the vast, empty area set aside for dancing.
While they were approaching the dancing area, Bel heard a fast-paced dwarven jig being played.
Bel whispered to Fili, "I don't think I'll be able to dance to this."
He chuckled. "Not much of a dancer, eh?"
"Oh, I could dance to slower music." Bel quickly replied.
Bel covered her mouth, knowing that she would have to slow-dance with Fili. Bel knew that she could dance; but if it involved another person, she would get nervous.
Fili flashed a smile with his straight teeth and clapped. He called out to a group of four dwarves who were playing various instruments. "Please play a slower tune for Bel and I!"
Bel nervously smiled at the people who has turned to gaze at the pair. Among the people, were Legolas and Thranduil. Thranduil's emotions seemed unchanged at gaining knowledge of Bel's dance partner. Legolas, however, had an eyebrow raised, as if questioning Bel's actions and wondering how his fairly shy sister could have talked to Fili, none the less get a dance partner!
Bel just continued to hold her awkward smile until she felt herself being pulled onto the direct center of the ball room's floor.
She again whispered to Fili. "Why do we have to dance all alone?"
"I just wanted it to be you and I." Fili responded, with the reply of the rhythmic sound of Bel's heart speeding up.
"And so it shall be you and I." Bel spoke.
Fili held out his pinkie finger for Bel to interlock with her own. "Promise?"
Bel laughed at his child-like behavior. "Promise."

EpilogueFili's ball really had been the beginning of he and Bel's relationship.
From that evening, they had shared secrets, adventures, hugs, kisses, and vows.
Nothing in existence could separate the two; they were one and only one.
