Tw: suicidal thoughts

Dabi opened his eyes to see the woman he had spent the night with sleeping soundly next to him.

It was casual hook-ups like these that let him wake up in a warm bed.

After stretching Dabi swung his legs to the side of the bed to put  his pants on. Before he could get up to leave he felt a hand grab his arm.

"Stay, I'll cook some breakfast for us." The woman offered. Dabi looked blankly at her for a moment. He smiled and sat back on the bed to give her a kiss. "That would be wonderful, how kind of you."

They said nothing as they ate. Once finished, Dabi cleaned his dishes and went into the bedroom to grab the last of his things.

The woman stopped him before he opened the door. "Can I have your number so we can do this another time?" She asked.

"Sorry babe, but this was a one time deal." Dabi answered. He put a hand on her head before walking out the door.

-

He felt bad for taking the five-hundred yen, but Dabi didn't let his guilt keep him from spending it on a pack of cigarettes.

He walked the streets, making his daily visit to the bridge. Lighting his cigarette, Dabi hopped on the railing, grabbing onto the beams to better his balance.

He leaned and looked down at the drop. Would he be able to do it? No, of course he couldn't. As long as his father lived Dabi would never be able to die peacefully.

Meow

Startled, Dabi slipped. He gripped onto the railing and attempted to find footing for his feet. Unfortunately his whole life depended on his upper-body strength. He looked to see what had lead him to his soon death.

A calico kitten looked right into his eyes and meowed once more.

"You tiny motherfucker. Once I get over there you're dead." Dabi grunted as he started to pull himself back up. In response the cat simply got closer. It rubbed against his hands and purred. His grip started to weaken.

Dabi quickly pulled himself up and found footing. He caught his breath as he rolled onto the cold concrete sidewalk.

Mrow

The cat jumped onto his stomache, curling up and getting comfortable.

Dabi grabbed the mammal by the scruff and sat back up. "I said I was going to kill you, that means get lost kitty." Dabi held a flame next to it as a threat.

Mew?

To his surprise, the kitten got closer. Dabi stopped his quirk before it got too close. "Huh. You're just asking for it, eh?" Dabi observed the cat as it rubbed it's head into the palm of his hand.

Wondering what he was doing holding a kitten in the middle of the bridge, Dabi set the cat down and started on his way.

Mrrrow

The cat had followed him. Dabi ignored it, thinking it would soon lose interest.

He walked another block, the scrawny cat still followed. He continued on his way, every time he looked back it's orange spots caught his eye.

In attempt to shake off his persuer, Dabi walked through a crowd of people and slipped out into the alley.

He continued walking just to be positive he lost the feline. He sat down on a trashcan to rest for a moment and closed his eyes.

Meooow

Dabi's eyes snapped open so see the same damn cat. Dabi got up and grabbed the little vermin. He opened up the trashcan and dropped the cat inside. Without a second thought he walked away.

-

"GET OUT!" The man yelled as he kicked Dabi out of his home. The man he had spent the night with ended up having a boyfriend. It wasn't his fault, the guy never mentioned anything, but Dabi still was the one who was punished for it.

Dabi gripped his now bruised side and decided that the ground was a good place to rest until he got the strength to move.

Mrrrow

"Fuck, how did you get here?" Dabi didn't even have to look to know who it was.

He remained on the ground as the cat trotted over to him, once again curling up on his stomach.

"You're probably hungry, huh kitty? I am too." He itched the cat's ear as he talked to it. He got up, the cat jumping off of him so it could walk besides Dabi.

Dabi searched  through his pockes to find just enough money to pay for jerky and a bottle of water. Once he paid Dabi opened the package and tore off a small portion to give to the kitten.

"You thirsty too kitty?" Dabi offered to pour water in his palm for it to drink out of. It walked up and lapped at the water without hesitation. Dabi smiled as it's tongue tickled his hand. "What am I doing talking to a cat?" Dabi scoffed and got up. He looked at the cat for another moment as he chewed a strip of jerky.

"Follow if you'd like, you'll get tired eventually." Dabi sighed before getting back up.

Mrrrow!  The kitten cheered before trotting after him.

~Thanks and enjoy~
