y/n is stressed about her grades and the war- you know, just normal teenager things.

You looked over at the stack of homework next to you and it took everything in you not to start crying. You were preparing for your N.E.W.Ts and while you've been studying for the entire year, you've been exhausting yourself doing it for about a month now. Every time you considered taking a break, you couldn't help but remember the conversation you had with your mother right before the start of the semester.

The two of you had gotten into a major argument about school and the upcoming war. You had made the mistake of mentioning which side you would be aiding once things got more serious. This, of course, was not something she wanted to hear. Your mother would rather promote the wrong side if it meant keeping out of trouble.

The argument ended with some incredibly harsh words and an ultimatum- if you intended to assist the order during the war, you were no longer welcome home. Very few words were spoken between the two of you after.

This conversation spurred on one anxious thought after another in your brain as you prepared for your upcoming exams. You had very limited choices now. Of course you weren't going to stand on the sidelines during the war, that wasn't even a question in your mind. However, you now needed to be employed immediately after graduation, which means you had to get outstanding scores on as many of the tests as possible. If you weren't able, you would be out of a home.

You hadn't told your boyfriend, Remus, about the conversation with your mother yet and you weren't sure you were going to. Everyone already had so much to worry about, you didn't want anyone worrying about you too. You knew as soon as Remus knew, it wouldn't be long before the rest of the boys knew about your situation as well.

So, you gave yourself a mini pep talk and continued on working. Unfortunately, these pep talks only helped for a few minutes before you began to drag again.

You were working in a little corner of the library, engulfed in studies of ancient runes when you felt gentle hands on your shoulders. You jumped, not expecting anyone to find you. You should've known there was nowhere you could go where Remus couldn't find you. He just seemed to be able to read your mind.

"Hello darling," he said, beginning to rub your shoulders.

You groan in response. You didn't realize how tense you had gotten in this position.

He only chuckled before continuing, "We're leaving for Hogsmeade in a couple of minutes, are you ready to go?"

You cringed internally. You had forgotten to tell him you no longer planned on going. Professor McGonagall had given you a study sheet you had requested and you hadn't even looked over it yet.
