This chapter is a bit of a joke, and doesn't have any real story beats. Enjoy!

"So, remind me why exactly you thought it was a good idea to come here?" Megumin asked incredulously. "I heard there was a neat artifact here." Yunyun responded, holding her hands up. The flames she created danced across the walls, bathing the cold rock with warm orange light. "We could take it and sell whatever it is. Then use the money for some extra equipment." Megumin nodded.

While Y/N was currently stuck in a bed due to his injuries, his party members had decided to take it upon themselves to gather some additional funds. The two crimson demons delved deeper into the cave, it's yawning black stretching on indefinitely ahead of them. Finally, after what felt like an eternity of walking, they stumbled upon what they were looking for.

The tunnel opened into a large chamber, and in the middle sat a pillar, bathed in light from a hole in the ceiling. Upon the pillar sat a strange piece. It was vaguely L-shaped, colored a dark grey. Where the corners met there was a strange opening, just large enough to slide a finger through, and on the other side there was a cylindrical hole that ran through the object.

Delicately, Yunyun picked it up, inspecting it. "What is this?" She peered down the opening, and turned the cold metal around several times in her hands. "Let me see it." Megumin requested, and Yunyun offered it to her.

Megumin did the same, turning it in her hands several times over. As she was inspecting the metallic object, they heard something skitter towards them, and from the shadows a goblin jumped at them, a wooden club held above its head. Megumin dodged as the club came down onto the ground. "Why's there a goblin here!?" Yunyun shouted.

"Kishaaa!" Was the creatures response, and it poised its club to strike. It ran at Megumin and, without thinking, she held the object in front of her and placed her hand on what she thought was it's activation piece.

The metal seemed to come alive and, with a ferocious crack that echoed through the cave, a small explosion occurred at the end of it, and instantly the goblin fell over, dead. Megumin stared at the weapon for a moment, before a smile appeared on her face.

"Did you see that?" She asked. "The Goblin dying?" "No! It made an explosion! And there's no mana cost!" Yunyun's eyes widened. Megumin bolted out of the cave, a massive smile now adorning her face, with Yunyun running closely behind her.

A short while later, Yunyun found Megumin hiding in some bushes, watching a Warg wandering through the forest. She crouched down beside her. "What are you doing?" Megumin didn't respond, but her smile grew wider.

With her eyes glowing the brightest red Yunyun had ever seen, she leapt out of the bushes, frighting the poor Warg. "Hear me, foul creature!" She shouted, waving the metal object above her head. "I, the mightiest of the Crimson Demons, have been blessed by the gods by a weapon so great, it causes the very Demon King himself to quake in fear! Count yourself lucky, fiend, for you are among the first to be tested on by this weapon!" She pointed the open end at the confused creature.

"Now, pray to whatever deity you believe in, and DIE!" She pulled the metallic piece again, and Yunyun covered her ears.

Click

"Huh?" Megumin stared at the piece, and pulled it again, and achieved the same metallic clicking as before. The Warg stared at her in confusion, and Megumin stared back, her face as red as her eyes were only moments before. "U-Uhm...SURPRISE ATTACK!" She threw the metal piece at the Wargs snout. It slammed into its nose and the animal let out a Yelp of pain as Megumin turned back to Yunyun, and bolted past her. "RUN!" She shouted, and Yunyun did as asked.

Neither one of them stopped running until they were at Atmora's front gates. They leaned on the hard stone for a moment, catching their breath. "Let's...Not tell Y/N about this...Okay?" Megumin asked, and silently Yunyun agreed.
