"Hey sweetie," mom smiled as I walked down the stairs.
"Hi momma," I smiled back.
Her and dad glanced at each other.
"What?" I asked as I stopped dead in my tracks.
"Remember how Lauren and Rob are coming to stay with us?" Dad asked.
"Yeah..."
"Well, Aidan is coming too," mom said.
"He's what?!" I yelled.
"We know you guys don't get along, but maybe this will be good for you," mom said.
I shook my head.
Aidan and I can't even be in the same room with each other without arguing.
A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts.
Dad got up and opened it.
"D/N!" Rob yelled as he hugged dad.
"Robby!" Dad yelled as he hugged him back.
They let go of each other and Rob walked in to hug my mom.
"Hi D/N," Lauren smiled.
"Lauren," dad said as they hugged.
"M/N, how are you?" Rob said as he hugged my mom.
"I'm good," she smiled.
"M/N!" Lauren smiled as she hugged my mom.
"Aidan, how's it going?" Dad asked as he held out his hand.
"Good," Aidan smiled as he shook it.
"There she is!" Rob yelled once he saw me.
"Hi Rob," I chuckled.
He gave me a tight hug, "how are you kid?"
"I'm good," I smiled.
"I can't believe how much you've grown up," Lauren said as she hugged me next.
"Hi Lauren," I smiled.
"You look beautiful," she smiled.
"Thank you," I said as I tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Aidan, you look so much older," my mom said as she hugged him.
"Well, I am eighteen," he chuckled as he hugged her back.
We made eye contact for a split second before my dad broke the silence.
"Okay, Lauren and Rob, you know where the guest room is," Dad smiled.
"And Aidan, you're going to be staying in Y/N's room," Mom said.
HES WHAT?!
"Y/N, be nice and take him up to your room," dad smiled as he nudged me.
I started walking up the stairs and Aidan followed behind.

"Okay, so we're going to the casino tonight, so we won't be back until late," dad said.
"Okay," I said.
"Be good you two," Lauren said.
"But call us if you need anything," my mom said.
"Okay," Aidan and I said at the same time.
"Love you!"
"Love you too!" Aidan and I said.
They walked out closing the door behind them.
I glanced up at Aidan as he typed on his MacBook.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing," I said as I went back to reading.

"Weather national advisory. Snow storm from nine tonight to eight am tomorrow," the news played on the tv.
What?!
I got up and looked outside to see it snowing really hard.
"Shit," Aidan said.
"What?" I asked.
"My mom just texted, they have to stay at the casino tonight because of the snow," he said.
"Shit," I whispered.
The lights turned off. Powers out.
I walked into the kitchen and picked up a flashlight out of the cupboard.
"Oh no, this means that the heat won't be on," I said as I turned the flashlight on.
"Great," Aidan said sarcastically.

Aidan and I sat in the living room by the fire wrapped up in blankets in silence.
My teeth wouldn't stop chattering even though I'm wearing a sweatshirt, sweatpants, heavy socks and like 3 blankets. Plus I'm sitting in front of a fire.
Aidan was shivering too, but I think that might be because he's from LA.
All the sudden he wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to sit on his lap. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close.
If I wasn't so cold, I would've said something.
I wrapped my arms around him and slowly we both stopped shaking.
We both looked at each other. I never noticed how pretty his eyes are. He started to lean in and pressed his lips against mine. I kissed him back. Our lips moved in sync as we both held onto each other for warmth.
My blankets fell as I moved my fingers to his hair. His cold hands moved under my shirt and rested on my waist sending chills down my spine.
We pulled away and looked at each other.
"Um, sorry," he mumbled as he pulled my blankets back around me.
I climbed off his lap sat back down next to him.
Holy shit, I kissed Aidan.

I woke up the next morning as Aidan and I'd parents walked through the door.
Aidan had his arm wrapped around me and held me close to him.
"It's freezing in here," dad said.
"Oh, my gosh. The power must've gone out," mom said.
"I hope the kids are okay," Lauren said.
I heard feet shuffling. So I rolled over and wrapped my arm around Aidan as I pretended to be asleep.
"Thank god, we had firewood," I heard mom say.
"Awe, they're cuddling," Rob said.
"They were both probably so desperate for warmth they just held onto each other," dad said.
"Is it bad that I want to take a picture?" Lauren asked.
"No, I do too," mom said.
I heard them walk over and pull out their phones.
Great.
