Chapter Forty

"Get us out of here what are you doing?!" I whisper yell to Loki shaking out joined hands.

"He already knows we broke in what is running to our home, where he knows we live by the way going to do my love?!" Loki whisper yells back.

"How much trouble are we going to get in for this?!" I ask looking up at him.

"You know better than me! This is your forsaken planet."

Fury enters with an amused look.

"How stupid do you think I am? Get us out of here." He mocks laughing, "I've known about your little visit Yanis you can thank lover boy for keeping you out of trouble."

"Where the fuck is he?" I ask my my voice low and threatening as I take a step closer to him.

"Relax, I upgraded him for you." Fury says turning away leading the way out of the room.

"It's taking a lot of willpower not to just bash your head in now Fury not gonna lie." He doesn't respond or even turn around and I scoff turning to Loki.

"I'll kill him." I say raising taking out the dagger holstered to my thigh.

"I know darling but let's just see what's going on ." He says lowering the blade being pointed at the back of Fury's head.

We're led into a hallway that has multiple cells with glass looking into the inside. He continues leading us down what seems like an endless amount of cells but finally appear in the one holding Zemo who's curled up in a ball on the floor holding his knees to his chest.

Once he's aware of our presence his eyes widen and body shoots up to meet me at the glass.

"Are you okay?" I ask right away pressing my hand to the glass and he meets my hand his warmth radiating through.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry it's my fault." Is all he's able to say sweat beading down his forehead. He looks slightly different, he looks slightly younger, his body more toned, and very exasperated.

"What did you do to him?" I ask my magic flowing threateningly through my voice turning on my heels glaring at Fury.

"I needed to make sure the serum actually worked and Helmut here didn't try to pull one over on me. Now that I see he hasn't he's free to go." Fury holds his hand up to a pad next to the door letting it scan his hands before the doors open with a gust of air. I immediately rush to hug Zemo inhaling his earthy smell before pulling away to look him in his eyes.

"I'm sorry." He says not looking back at me instead nuzzling just face into my neck.

"What happened my love, tell me and I'll help you."

"I.. recreated the super shoulder serum, perfecting it with shield scientists help." He says ashamed clinging to me.

"Then he used me as his first human trial." He grits out making me let go of him turning furiously to Fury.

"I thought you were someone I could trust." I say disgusted with him.

"Save the dramatics Yanis you can still trust me, I made him better, stronger. Now he can really fit in with your group of misfits.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You forced a man to become something he doesn't want to be and act like you're a savior for it." I step closer gritting my teeth together Loki rests a hand on my shoulder trying to calm me down, which doesn't work.

"He wanted to pave his way out of prison and become a real man deserving of you. He's done that now, but I am still going to need something from you Yanis." Fury quickly steps out of the cell the door closing swiftly behind him. Loki immediately tries to teleport us out but it doesn't work. I try to scream and break the glass but no magic flows behind my voice a regular scream emitting from my throat.

I pull out my phone and try to call anyone for help but my phone doesn't work and neither does Lokis.

"What the fuck is this Fury?" Loki bites slamming his hand against the glass.

"Don't worry this doesn't have anything to do with you. Well not that much anyways. I suppose it can't hurt to tell you what's going on now that you're all.. disarmed." I feel around for my weapons and realize he snatched them when I wasn't paying attention and by the look on Lokis face he's also been robbed.

"When you came back with a new tail and six new soulmarks I admittedly got nervous about your growing power just like when you started making intergalactic allies, but then I thought why? Why am I nervous. This is Marianna, she cares about the well-being of all different types of people, she's not perfect, but she's loyal, smart, and has a heart of gold. In the short time of being with the Avengers you've changed not only Earth but other planets. You are truly the goddess of unity, and with this serum I'm hoping to give you more power."

"That doesn't even make sense, my godliness surpasses anything the serum has to offer." I say shaking my head.

"Not that kind of power, I'm hoping the serum will enact enough change to trigger more soulmarks."

"No." I say breathily slapping my hand against the glass.

"Please I'm so tired, I love my mates and wouldn't trade them for anything but I can not handle anymore."

"You can and you will, we need a united front of hero's and I believe you are the key to that."

"You're basically pimping me out!" I scream banging harder against the glass bloodying my knuckles my healing not working.

"They'll be your soulmates, don't be dramatic." He rolls his eyes scrolling on a large tablet in his hands.

"You'll be mad for a bit but ultimately thank me if this works."

"Please, please don't do this." I beg my hand slowly falling from the glass looking to Fury with pleading eyes.

"It's for the greater good Yanis. Sweet dreams."

A gas is emitted into our cell quickly making my body grow weak until my eyes flutter close, the last thing I see is Zemo trying to reach for me.
