As the car pulled up to Alice's house Nate noticed that Alice was tense. He wondered if he caused it. 'Did she regret being intimate with him?'

"Thank you for today Nate, I had a lot of fun," Alice said looking over at him. "I'll pick you up tomorrow morning for school." Alice began to protest, "Oh I can't I have to take my brother to school." Nate smiled, "It's ok we can drop him off on the way." Alice smiled and nodded and climbed out of the car. Before turning to walk away she smiled and said "goodnight Nate."

She entered the dark house and quietly began to sneak upstairs. She was startled when the light flicked on and her mother sat in the hallway waiting for her. "Wow that was quick, not even one day and you're already whoring yourself out." Alice said nothing and ran up to her room.

This was all happening way too fast. Alice felt guilty, she knew she had responsibilities and Luca relying on her but yet being with Nate almost made her forget that. Alice peeked out into the hallway noticing that her mother had gone to bed and quietly opened Luca's door. She smiled when she heard his soft snores.

Going inside her room, she laid on her bed staring at the ceiling when her phone buzzed. She reached over and saw a text from an unknown number.

'goodnight Alice'

'who is this?'

She anxiously awaited the reply and smiled.

'it's Nate'

'how did you get my number?'

'I have my ways, you should get some sleep <3'

Alice fell asleep that night with a smile on her face.

Alice woke up in the morning and got her and Luca ready for the day. She heard her phone buzz seeing that Nate was here. Alice bent down to talk to Luca, "Okay buddy, we're going to riding with one of my friends so be nice." Luca nodded and grabbed her hand as they exited the house.

Nate was waiting outside of his truck and smiled when he saw Luca hid behind Alice when they approached the car. Nate bent down and said, "Hi Luca, I'm Nate." Luca peeked his head out and said, "hi". Nate smiled and helped the two into the car.

Alice sat in her second period class listening to Jules and Rue talk about some guy Jules is talking to.

"Ok I'm done talking about this Rue," Jules said laughing. "Alice, we're going out for lunch after school, wanna come?"

Alice looked up and replied, "Sure, I don't have work today so works for me." Jules and Rue smiled at Alice excited to hangout with their new friend. The bell rang signaling the end of class, the three walked out and Alice muttered a quick goodbye to the two before making her way over to Nate.

Nate looked up from his phone as Alice walked over and smiled. "How was class baby?" he said grabbing her hand. "It was really good, Jules and Rue invited me out to lunch today after school." Alice flinched when she felt Nate's hand tighten around hers. "I thought we were hanging out after school." he said harshly. "I'm sorry I didn't know, we can hangout after." Nate let go of her hand and said, "whatever". He sped up and left her in the hallway. Alice held back tears, 'how did she already fuck this up'.

----

Alice sat next to Nate during her fourth period. The silence was tense and she could feel Nate's anger radiating through her body. "I'm sorry Nate, I won't hangout with them today." Nate smiled, 'it worked'.

After their fourth period class Alice told Nate that she needed to talk to Jules and Rue and tell them she can't make it. He agreed and followed her to where Jules and Rue were sitting, he stayed back to allow her to talk to the girls but stayed close enough so he could hear.

"Hey guys, I'm so sorry but I can't come for lunch today, I completely forgot I had plans," Alice said looking at the two nervously. Rue smiled and said "Its alright maybe tomorrow." Alice agreed and gave the girls her phone number so they could reschedule. She made her way back to Nate and the two sat down to have lunch together.

Jules sighed as Alice walked away with Nate. "I'm worried about her." Rue sighed, "me too."
