Talk To Me (Sam & Wanda Friendship)

BACKSTORY: After the events of Wandavision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam finds Wanda and talks to her.

Sam was well aware that one of the main parts of being Captain America was leading the Avengers. He also knew he had no chance of leading the Avengers if he didn't recruit members to the team. And where better to begin than with one of his closest friends and former teammate, Wanda Maximoff.

So Sam found himself outside a small cabin in Russia. He stood hesitantly in front of the door. As much as he loved Wanda and how close they were as friends, he was quite nervous to see her. He had heard about what had happened in Westview but had no idea about any specifics.

He took a deep breath before knocking on the door. A moment later, the door swung open revealing Wanda with a defensive expression on her face and scarlet surrounding her hands. As soon as she recognized Sam, the magic disappeared and her face relaxed into a more peaceful expression.

"Sam" She said with a smile, stepping forward to hug him.

"Hey Wanda" Sam said, returning her hug enthusiastically.

"Come on in" Wanda said, leading into her home "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"No thank you. I just came to talk about something"

Wanda visibly froze at this. She quickly recovered and sat down on the sofa, gesturing for Sam to sit beside her.

"I'm guessing you want to know what happened in Westview?" Wanda said, her gaze drifting to a book lying in the corner of the room.

"Partly. What happened Wanda?"

Wanda just continued staring at the book, shaking her head ever so slightly.

"Hey, talk to me. I want to help you" Sam said, reaching out and taking Wanda's hand in his own to show his support.

"I never meant to hurt anyone. I just missed Vision so much. I thought by going to the house he'd bought us, I would feel him close to me. On my way there, everyone in the town just looked so miserable. They looked as bad as I felt and I wanted to take their pain away. When I got to the land Viz bought, it all just became too much and it just exploded out of me. I just wanted him back"

Wanda paused and fiddled with the ring on her finger for a moment before carrying on.

"I still don't really know how I managed it but I created a false reality in which Vision was alive. He was there and I had everything I wanted. I thought the citizens of Westview were happier than before. If I'd known I was causing so much hurt and suffering, I would of taken it down far sooner than I did. I was happy there. I had the family I'd always dreamt of. A loving husband and two perfect sons. Of course it couldn't last though. You've heard about what happened with the witch, Agatha Harkness?"

Sam nodded. The fight with Agatha and Wanda becoming the Scarlet Witch had been all he'd heard about in great detail.

"It was all fake. My family wasn't real. Now I'm all alone again" Wanda said softly.

"You're not alone Wands. You do have a family. The Avengers are your family" Sam comforted.

"The Avengers fell apart"

"I'm rebuilding the team. That's one of the reasons I'm here actually. Bucky and Rhodey already agreed and I'm gonna try recruit the spider kid, Lang and his girlfriend Hope. Oh and I'm pretty sure Natasha had a sister-"

"Yelena" Wanda stated with a small smile.

"You met her?"

"Right after I left New Jersey actually. She'll be a perfect addition to our team"

"You're in?"

"I'm in"
