The Day My Life Began

CHAPTER TWO

Suddenly I felt a presence beside me, a strong arm pressing into mine amongst the crowd. It was Calum. I looked up at him and smiled, he smiled back. "Hi" he said as I struggled to find my words. "You should take some pictures of him, that lockscreen is awful" he said nodding to my phone, and yes the awful picture of Luke on it. I suddenly realised how awkward this was because he probably thought I was only here to see Luke; well to be perfectly honest I was standing in his line. Regardless I brought up the camera on my phone and starting taking pictures of all the boys.

"You honestly don't understand how much I love your band" I told Calum. "Yeah?" He replied so cooly it froze my heart. "Yes you guys honestly make my life so much better, and I love you all so much for it" I tried to match his chilled tone; an impossible task. "Well, thanks" was that a tone of embarrassment I heard, probably not. "You know, now I'm talking to you, can you do me a favour?" I asked Calum. "Sure, anything for you lovely" he smirked at me with his adorable face. "Haha, well can you please look after yourself and the other guys? I mean I don't know what I'd do without you boys and your music, you literally make my world whole. Please just make sure you are healthy and don't make stupid decisions. Also I accept you smoking calum, but please don't make it a habit, because my life would go upside down if anything happened to one of you" my heavy breaths filled the silence as he stared at me hard, cocking his head slightly to the side. But the moment was broken as he glanced behind me and noted Luke with the person ahead of me in the line. "You should probably get ready" he smiled as Luke came around to see me. I smiled at Luke and he said hi and thanked me for waiting so long and I told him I'd do anything for him so it was okay. We took some pictures and then he said bye as he went off to another crowd of girls around Ashton.

I spotted Calum across the courtyard staring at me and made my way to him despite the masses of teenage girls between us and around him. "I never got your name?" He asked as I finally reached him. "Jess" I breathed as hundreds of gawking girls huddled round as he smiled at me. "CALUM!" I heard Mikey's voice calling out to Cal. "That's my que" he said as he started to walk back towards Mikey.

"Wait!" I called out softly as I leaned up to his shoulder and whispered "it's not him by the way, it's you, it was always you". Understanding what I meant, Calum gripped ahold of my arm and dragged me by a side door. "Go inside and tell them I sent you" he smiled as he started to walk away again.

I entered the door and was met by loads of officials and manage-type looking people. "Calum sent me" I told them as they looked put the door to him walking away as confirmation. "Alright, come with us and he'll see you after the show" a tall brunette lead me towards a large van...
