Chapter 7
"There's all kinds of reasons that you fall in love with one person rather than another: Timing is important. Proximity is important. Mystery is important."-Helen Fisher
Harriet smiled at her family, Carlisle staying by her side as the others raced into the woods to hunt for the night. Seeing as she had hunted the night before, she wasn't going with them. Rather she was going to have a relaxing night with Paul and Jared, who had been released form patrol by Sam after they had begged for the night off to spend time with their mate.
Carlisle waited until he knew the others couldn't hear before turning to her with crossed arms and a raised eyebrow. "If you are going to consummate your relationship tonight, please keep it in your room."
Harriet's eyes widened while the sound of choking sounded from the living room of their house. "Carlisle!" She exclaimed, cupping her cheeks as if she was blushing. "I would expect that from Emmett or even Jasper, but never from you!"
"I don't want to come home to a destroyed home, that is all."
Harriet pouted, looking down at her sloth covered feet. "We aren't Rosalie and Emmett, Carlisle." She muttered, huddling into herself in embarrassment. "Even if we did do it, I have enough restraint to not break anything."
"I also don't want to be called to tend to any broken bones." He lightly teased, a soft smile on his face as she let out a groan and covered her face. Reaching out he ruffled her bangs, the rest of her hair pulled back into the same bun she had been wearing for the past few days. "I'm only kidding, kind of."
Harriet glared, gently swatting his hand away as he let out a laugh. "Go!" She exclaimed, darting into the house and appearing in between a blushing Paul and Jared, though Paul had a large smirk on his face.
"Broken bones and a destroyed house huh?" He teased, earning a faint glare that made him chuckle before leaning over and kissing her nose. "Mon coeur, even if we did that, I would cherish every broken bone and bruise you could give me."
Harriet let out a groan and covered her face, pulling away from Paul and leaning against a just as embarrassed Jared. "I would like to get to know you both better before we do anything like that, Paul."
Paul gave a soft smile while Jared looked down at his mate with soft eyes. Reaching over, Paul pulled her hands from her face, "Harriet, I would wait for a thousand years if that's how long you want to wait."
She let out a sigh, a fond smile on her face as she cupped his cheeks leaning foreword and kissing his nose. "Thank you, Mon loup." Pulling back, she grabbed their hands and stood up. "Now I went to the store and got ingredients for Calissons!"
Jared raised an eyebrow "What's that?"
Harriet grinned, her eyes sparkling as she thought of her time as a human. "They are French candies from my time, you can buy them but they are better homemade!"
