The music continued to boom as everyone in the party were having a blast, enjoying themselves as they mingled around, dancing on the dance floor and more. As the party continued to go on and such, in the slight corners of where the fun was being held, was a small group of people playing poker as they placed bets and such.
A black haired man with purple scars covering most of his body, walked to that group in his tuxedo with his mask on. He was carrying a briefcase and made sure to look right and left before people would hold suspicion as to where he was going.
The little corner this group was in was slightly dim from the party with the loud music being muffled due to their distance from the main event. Laughter could be heard the more he walked closer to the group, it seemed they were enjoying their little game.
Before the man could even get close enough to have a talk with the group, a tall bodyguard raised his hand up, gesturing that he should not trespass. It was understandable though, it was a private area and he knew he had no proof to confirm that he could enter.
“Hang on friend, this man is one of us. Let him enter, will ya?,” A light blue-haired man said as he stood and gestured to the bodyguard that he could enter. It was Tomura Shigaraki.
The bodyguard nodded and moved to the side to make way for the man to pass through.
“Seems like you’re having some fun here, Shigaraki. Not surprised knowing how socially awkward you could be at times,” The black haired man said.
“I’m just not one to enjoy big parties all the time, Dabi. Besides, I’d rather spend some time with some closer friends than some pesky guests that enter here,” he replied as he sat down and continued to play with the other men with him.
The billionaire gestured Dabi to sit down and so he did. “I got what you asked,” he opened the briefcase and revealed the jewel he had stolen.
Shigaraki’s eyes widened, along with his other fellow rich friends as they were all shocked by the sight of the ruby in front of them. Dabi held back a smile, satisfied to know that they all seem to be pleased by the work he has done.
Shigaraki chuckled lightly, “You’ve done yourself well, Dabi. I’ve expected nothing less from the famous thief in Japan.”
“Thanks, but I’m pretty sure you have something for me since we did have a deal, didn’t we?,” Dabi raised a brow as he closed the briefcase.
Both Dabi and Shigaraki know very well that they made a deal before Dabi took action to steal the ruby for the billionaire himself. In exchange, all the thief asked the rich man for 10 million yen.
The billionaire smirked and brought out his briefcase, opened it and revealed the stacks of dollars counting in total of the preferred amount that Dabi wanted.
“Don’t worry Dabi, I will never forget. Besides, that ruby is truly what I want, you deserve the money you earned for such a great deal.”
Meanwhile with the secret agents sent on the mission, the two haven’t done much other than have a chat while drinking their cocktails. They made sure not to drink too much, getting drunk on a mission and failing miserably would be the last thing to happen for them.
“You know, you’ve been asking a lot about me for a while now,” Yosetsu started, “Can I ask some things about you too?”
Momo turned to face him and smiled, “Sure! What do you want to ask me?”
Yosetsu hummed as he took some time to think, “Well, I’m not sure if anyone has asked you this but...what made you apply to become a secret agent?”
Her eyes widened a little and let out a light chuckle, “Yeah, a lot of people have but I don’t mind answering either way.”
He slightly felt embarrassed for bringing up a topic that probably has been asked to her most of the time, but he was glad that she didn’t mind it.
She let out a deep breath before she could speak, “It’s basically just the thought of helping others in the shadows while also still having an effect on what you do in a good way.”
Yosetsu wasn’t surprised that Momo’s reason when applying for a secret agent was because of good intentions. She was a good person overall and how she communicates with others and the way people trust her a lot was understandable by the kind nature she possesses.
She then continued, “I was one of those kids back then who really enjoyed watching action movies but during that time, it was said to be a ‘boys thing’ when watching action movies. Even so, it sort of inspired me to try out to become a fighter but also a thinker. No one believes women are strong enough for a job like that, so I want to be one of those women to prove them wrong.”
He chuckled, “That’s nonsense for someone to think that women aren’t worthy to become a secret agent. I always thought anyone could be as cool and strong no matter who they are.”
“Exactly! And here I am, happily living my life saving and helping others while suddenly getting praised by other people for the wonderful job I’m doing,” Momo proudly says which earned her a laugh coming from Yosetsu.
“Karma hits hard, doesn’t it?”
“It sure does,” she laughed along with him.
Momo then asked, “How about you? Why did you want to apply to become a secret agent? I know your reason why you chose a different role in the agency but how about the role before that?”
He shrugged as he took a sip of his drink and answered, “Nothing much really, I was just interested to know that a job like that does actually exist so I thought of applying for it. My family were supportive of me on my decision, but I just didn’t feel confident enough to apply so I backed out on that decision.”
She gave out a sympathetic look and softly smiled, “Well, here you are being able to use this opportunity to experience what it’s like and to prove yourself wrong. I think you’ll work very well as a secret agent like some of us.”
Yosetsu smiled back, “Yeah, let’s just hope I’ll do a good job.”
“You’ll do a wonderful job, Yosetsu. I know it.”
Yosetsu was quite happy to know that despite his lack of self-confidence to be as good as he wants him to be, there were other people who would stick by his side to lift him up. Momo was no doubt one of the most caring people he has ever met and it has always been evident since the day he joined the agency.
The music then changed into a less of an upbeat music however it was still dance music as guests with their partners or dates came to the dance floor and danced to the music.
For some reason, Yosetsu suddenly felt this confident side of him to ask her for a dance. It’d be quite awkward considering this is their first time working together alone. Maybe he could think of some reason to back up his request for a dance.
He blushed but still stood up from his seat and brought out his hand to Momo, “May I have this dance?”
Momo had pink tinted on her cheeks by his action. “Aren’t you moving a little too quickly making a move, Yosetsu?,” she teased him.
“Think of this as a way for us to help get a better view of the guests to find our target. Other than that, we should give ourselves some fun, am I right?,” Yosetsu winked.
She blushed even more but smiled as she happily took his hand and stood up. “Lead the way then.”
