When we passed through the gates, we were greeted by Alyze. She smiled at me, "Well it seems that my old friend's trick worked. Glad it didn't scare you away". Then she hugged me. My eyes widened but I hugged her back. She released me and looked at Alyziran. "I hoped you apologized for being a dick". Alyizran placed a hand on his heart and gasped then smirked, "I'm wounded by your name callings". He turned to me, "I apologize for kidnapping you. I will explain more when we meet tomorrow. For now, Alyze will guide you all to your rooms. Rest up". And with that, Alyziran walked away and we followed Alyze. As we were following Alyze, I noticed this was a dark and cold place. It seemed Alyze could hear my thoughts because she said "Only those blessed by a dragon and see the castle as it truly is". She stopped walking and turned to me. "I'm going to warn you to be cautious. Tomorrow you will find out by what I mean. You will be tested. Hurt. Near death maybe. As every descendant is tested before they accept their faith. They need to prove themselves worthy to bare a heavy burden.".
I don't know why that scared me so much. I knew what I was getting into...or so I think. I'm not sure how to explain it. But here within the castle walls, I feel a source of energy. Powerful energy just waiting to burst within me. "Right, here we are. Unfortunately, we do not allow family members to bunk up together in a room. Zalea, your room is at the end of the hall. Kalinth and Alron, you rooms are to the left up those stairs. Sleep well. I'll come get you three in the morning." Alyze said. Without hesitation, I opened my door and went in. I couldn't look at my brothers right now. I looked around the room and I will say, it is a much improvement from our house. There is a bed with silk white sheets instead of animal fur, a big window that can be opened and closed, stone walls instead of wooden walls, a closet with no clothes and a sink with a mirror above it. Again, I felt eyes on me just like when we were in the cave. I laid in bed and signed heavily. What did Kalinth mean by he spent all his life keeping me hidden? What is to come and will I be ready for it? Better yet, did I make the right choice? Or did I doom us all?
I don't know when I drifted off to sleep but I was awoken by a voice. It was the same voice I heard when we were outside and my brothers were going to be burned alive. Almost like a trace I was walking through the halls of the castle, yet I was wide awake and fully aware of what was happening. But I had no control over my body. My bare feet were cold with each step of the stone floor. Where was I going? No, where was I being lead to? I reached the big wooden doors to which I assumed was the front doors of the castle instead of the cave from which I had entered hours ago. I put both my hands on the door and pushed them open. The doors creaked loudly. The cold night air hit my body. "Hey, what are you doing? No one is supposed to be wandering the halls at this hour." a male voice said. I looked at him but said nothing. Instead I continued walking down the flights of stairs that leads to the forest. Once I reached the bottom of the steps, my vision became glassy and I couldn't make out anything. It was all a blur of green and darkness with a hint of moonlight to aluminate the way. I was blind.
I'm not sure how long I was walking but I reached another cave. Only then did my vision return to normal.
You know the way. Follow it. Come to me girl.
A demand. I looked around and began to walk around. I need to figure out what it meant by I know the way. But everything was dark and I couldn't see. My hands were touching the walls of the cave so I didn't trip and fall.
Rider, release me.
"Where are you?" I shouted. "I can't find you. I don't know what to do". Useless. I was utterly useless.
