Chapter Five

Shadowfangs' POV

I waited patiently at the entrance to the scrap yard for Bumblebee once the sun had setted completely from the sky. I really hoped he was going to like this surprise. This was one of the only things I knew he had really loved about the planet.

I looked up when I had seen my mate coming out of the corner of my optic. I smiled, he still looked just as handsome as he did when he was that cute little scout I had knew once. "You ready to go?" I asked with a small smile, holding out my servo. "Where exactly are we going?" He asked with an arched optic ridge. It only made me grin that he was still clueless as to where we were going for the evening." You'll see, it's a surprise remember?" I said, taking his servo and leading him out of the scrap yard.

We walked through the woods so neither of us would have to transform into our alt modes. It did feel kind of nice to be back on Earth again. It was truly a beautiful planet. "It's a nice night." I said softly, trying to break the silence between us. "Yeah, it is... So different being out here compared to the desert..." He said softly as he put his arm around me gently. That was true, the night was so different when we had been out in the Nevada desert. "Well I can tell you I don't miss cleaning sand and dust out of my seams." I shuddered, remembering the awful feeling. I looked over at him when I heard him chuckle. "What?" I asked with a soft blush. "Oh, nothing it's just funny listening to you complain about the amount of dirt here. You always get so pouty." I couldn't help but blush a little bit and elbow him playfully. "I do not." I huffed a little.

It didn't take us long to reach the little surprise I had planned. I had already had a spot picked out behind some trees so no humans would see me or Bee. I looked over to Bee to see his reaction and all I could see was a big smile on his face. "I thought you would like this. "I said softly.

Bumblebee's POV

I couldn't help but smile as me and Fangs sat back and watched the movie. I felt lucky to have a mate like Fangs. Not many bots would go though so much trouble just to see me happy like she has done over and over many of times ever since I had met here all those decades ago when we were just sparklings. I let out a sigh and closed my optics for a moment, for the first time in a good while I finally felt at peace.

Though...I should of known better that it would not last, screams from humans were heard as a Decepticon had smashed through the drive-in screen. "Great...just what I needed..." I mentally groaned in the back of my helm. Something was wrong about this, it didn't seem like that Decepticon was there to terrorize the humans.

I was right, this thing had war-grade weapons..I pushed Fangs out of the way as a blast had just missed us both. "Go Run!" I ordered her, backing up. I turned to look back and I froze at who I saw. Starscream.... No that couldn't be possible, we got rid of him durning the war!....didn't we? I didn't stop to find out, I needed to get Fangs to safety first before engaging with past enemies.

I slid to a stop beside Fangs in the cover of the thick brush and trees. "Are you hurt? Did he hurt you?" I asked quickly, checking her over to see if I could see any visible injuries. "N-No..I'm fine Bee..Was that who I think it was?" She asked looking me in the optics. I tensed, she had been frightened by what had just happened. "I-I don't know Fangs...I really hope not." I knew there could be no other with firepower like that... Oh Primus.. We didn't have the firepower to fight Starscream, not if he still had weapons from the war. "I need to get you back to the scrapyard, you'll be safe there. " I said, that was the first thing on my to do list was to at least get Fangs to safety. Next item, to figure out what i'm going to do about Starscream.

Shadowfangs' POV

We didn't waste no time arriving back at the scrap yard, me and Bee didn't even speak on the way back. We just kept on the move. Neither of us wanted to stop until we knew for sure that we would be safe. "okay, we're back... now what? he'll be on top of us in a matter of minutes if we don't do something!" I was starting to panic, this night wouldn't of ended in disaster if Starscream didn't have a problem with staying offline.

"I know! I know! I'm thinking!" Bee yelled back, pacing furiously. I looked to him. "We don't have time to think Bee! There are humans in danger!" I looked back up at the sky and then to Bee. "I'm not Optimus!!!" He yelled back at me. "I can't do this! I'm not Optimus! I can't even lead them to work together how do you think I can beat Starscream without heavy weapons?!" He yelled at me. I smacked him in the shoulder. "You are right, you're not Optimus. But you are Bumblebee. Now suck it up and stop thinking like Optimus and start Thinking like Bumblebee. You defeated Megatron. You sure as slag can take down Starscream. " I looked to him with belief in my optics. "You can do this." I said.

We held each other's gaze for a moment before he gave a light nod and went to get the Decepticon Hunter. It was the only chance we really had again Starscream. "Denny, Russell. Go with Strongarm. She'll get you to safety. "I said, looking down at the humans.
"Wait Fangs, what about you? Aren't you coming?" Russell asked, standing alongside his father. I looked to him, and then to Bee. I felt torn. I didn't want to leave Bee fight Starscream with Sideswipe and Grimlock...but I was also in no condition. I sighed to myself." Yes I'll be right behind you. Now go." I said quickly." Fix-it you too, don't need you in the middle of a firefight." I said, transforming, offering the minicon a ride on my back.

As I and Strongarm began to make out leave I looked back at Bee, worry in my optics. I had a bad feeling about leaving him behind with the others. The same, sickening feeling I had the last time I had seen my father... No! That was not going to happen to Bee! Bee is tough, smart and quick. He would never let Starscream get the better of him.

"Fangs look out!" Strongarm cried as a blast took out the bridge infront of us, I slid to a stop and back up. I looked up with a growl rumbling in my throat. Starscream. I still had it out for him ever since he had injuries me way back in the war. "Well,well well...isn't it a pity that you're still alive." He sneered at me, I laughed a little." Oh funny, you took the words right out of my mouth." I spat back," what do want you flying rat with wings.." I growled, my claws slid out, ready for a fight. "Isn't it obvious?" He said, his weapons raised at both of us." To obliterate you!" He fired and I dodged quickly, Strongarm was not so lucky, the blast hit her and sent her rolling down the hillside. "Strongarm!" No...oh Primus the humans... This was it he was finally going to kill me...I closed my optics and waited for the blow.

Then suddenly out of now where I heard a blast... But I wasn't a hurt. I opened my optics and they widened seeing a familiar friend. Kairi. "Why don't you pick on someone like me Starscream." She smirked, two balls of energy formed in her hands.

Starscream groaned and sat up slowly, looking at her. Anger twisted within the expression on his face. "You... Still annoying as ever..." He grumbled, he quickly fired at her without warning.

What made things even weirder is a ghostly figure emerged. Its presence practically deflected the shot from hitting Kairi. It had to be Optimus. I could thin of no other explanation as of how it was possible.

"Fangs Run!" Kairi yelled at me, I scrambled to my pedes. "What about you?!" I called quickly as I quickly started to back away, towards where Strongarm and the humans had crashed. "Don't worry about me go! I'll be right behind you!" Kairi called and I nodded, hurrying down the hill the best I could. I had to becarful since I was pregnant. "strongarm! Strongarm can you hear me?" She didn't respond...not good. "Denny Russell? are you alright?" I asked, setting Fix-it down beside me.

Moments passed before I heard the groans from the humans. "Yeah We're alright. "Denny called as he pushed Strongarm's driver side door opened "A little banged up and bruised but nothing serious." I sighed with relief. "Thank Primus.. I carefully helped he humans out. "We have to get Strongarm out of here. Kairi Is keeping Starscream at bay for now but it won't stay that way forever." I frowned a bit. "Where are we going to go?" I heard Russell ask, then I had an idea. "I know a place, just need to call an old friend."
