Chapter Six

Bumblebee's POV

When I heard the blasts sound off in the distance, my spark felt like it had dropped into my tank. "Fangs!" I transformed, speeding off with Grimlock and Sideswipe in tow behind me. I slid to a stop, transforming. They were no where in sight and neither was Starscream. That didn't make me feel any less at ease.

"Woah, is the dude really that powerful? He blew the whole bridge with two shots..." I heard Sideswipe mutter as he looked down at the edge of where the bridge once was. I frowned a bit,

"Sideswipe, get away from there. For all we know Starscream could still be lurking around or worse chasing our teammates. So let's practice caution at all times." I looked to the both of them. I began looking around the scene, using all the training I had from being a scout and a police officer on Cybertron to try and figure out where they had gone to.

"There's an extra set of tracks here...Another Cybertronian is with them..." he mumbled, this made him worry more. They could of been jumped by more Decepticons. "Keep your scanners on and let me know if you pick up on any of their signals...for now. We follow the tracks. " I transformed and drove into the woods, in search of my mate and the rest of our team. Hoping they were safe.

We had to of drove for a few miles before I stopped when I noticed something. I transformed and knelt down. It was a large pile of rocks. They were piled specifically, like it was a clue of some sort. I studied it carfully trying to think of what this represented.

"Oh you got to be kidding, you stopped to admire rocks?!" Sideswipe groaned, his highbeams glaring on my back.

"It's not just rocks it's a clue. "I said simply. "I'm just...not sure what this is supposed to mean just yet." I heard Sideswipe groan as I just finished speaking.

The Grimlock and Sideswipe had just sat for awhile until I figured it out. How could I have been so blind to it! I turned and looked to them both with a smile on my face.

"I know where they're going." I said before transforming and leading them back to the scrapyard. I had to get a trailer to hide Grimlock before we made our long journey.

Shadowfangs' POV

I looked up tiredly when the sun was just beginning to rise over the mountainous area that we were trekking. Kairi and I had spent most of the night lugging a still Knocked out Strongarm up to a cavern we could rest in.

"Alright, this seems secluded enough for now...still sucks that the groundbridge is acting up." I mumbled a little bit, laying back against the cave wall. "He's going to meet us halfway right?" I asked looking to Kairi. She nodded a bit,

"That's what he said, we still have a about a hundred miles to go before we can meet up with him. "She sighed a little bit. "Man I've missed it here..." she looked out at the scenery below us. I had to admit the planet was a beautiful one.

I sighed after awhile. "I hope Bee is alright...and got our clues. "I said quietly, my face must of showed my worry when Kairi came over and hugged me.

"They'll all be fine, especially Bee. He's a tough mech." she looked me in the optics." If he can survive the war he can sure as heck survive this." She gave me a comforting smile. Which even in this time where things seemed dim, that smile did give me the small bit of hope I needed to keep pushing forward.

Bumblebee's POV

The sun began to set as we pulled into an abandoned parking lot for the night. We needed the rest and to at least have a bit of energon before we kept moving. All I could think about was Fangs...I prayed to Primus that she was alright and nothing bad had happened to her.

"Hey Bee, where exactly are we going?" Sideswipe asked, pulling up alongside me. I had completely forgot I hadn't told them where our destination was.

"Jasper, Nevada. " I said quietly. "Our old base was there when we were here during the war. I guess Fangs is hoping that it's still intact from when we left it here." I sighed a little bit, a part of me hoped that was true.

"Hey, I'm sure she's okay...I mean she's got Strongarm with her, I doubt she would let anything happen to Fangs."Sides said, I sighed a bit, Yeah Strongarm was trained, but she had no experience handling Starscream. Unlike me...I had too much experience for my liking.

"Starscream isn't like the Decepticon prisoners Sideswipe. He is manipulative, crafty and extremely dangerous. It would make your metal crawl if I told you some of the things he has done. "I said, I would be scowling if I was in my Cybertronian form.

Sideswipe had gone quiet after what I said. I couldn't blame him, I probably sounded like I had been snapping at the poor kid. I didn't mean too, it was all the stress I was under. Fangs, the sparklings...Now this? Primus must be really trying to test me. I let out a sigh before relaxing and trying to get some light recharge.

Shadowfangs' POV

We started our journey again after we had the cover of darkness, we had to keep moving through dense woodland, rough terrain and occasionally marshland to avoid being seen by humans. That, and the trees did provide some shelter from being seen from the air. My pedes were killing me from walking so much. But, there wasn't time to complain about it.

"It shouldn't be much farther we're a few minutes away from the meeting point." Kairi looked back at me. She was walking several feet ahead at this point.

We had to walk. The roadways were too dangerous and it would be the first place Starscream would track if he was following us.

I had to stop again, I couldn't keep going on like this. I laid down tiredly, my legs felt like they had been made out of rubber. I couldn't keep going, it had just exhausted me too much.

"Fangs..."I heard Kairi say, her footsteps getting closer to me. I just shook my helm. It was just too much, "No, you go ahead and meet up with him. I'll sit here. I need to rest. I'll only slow you down if I keep going on like this." I looke up at her, she looked reluctant to leave me here, but we both knew that I was right.

"Alright...but if anything happens come after me." she said, before hurrying off to go meet up with Ratchet. I watched her go, my optics dimming as exhaustion was taking over my body once again. I only hoped we would reach Jasper soon.

A short while later I woke when I heard something moving through the trees. I hoped it was Kairi... or Ratchet. "Stay here." I told Denny, Russell and Fix-it as I got up. I slid out my claw blades, incase this was the dangerous seeker that jumped us the day before.

A branch snapped. Something large was moving through the woods. I tensed, I backed into the thicker part of the forest waiting to see who it was. As soon as the large figure appeared I charged, with a cry I went to strike the large figure. But I was stopped in my tracked when a large servo grabbed my wrist.

"It is alright Shadowfangs..." The figure said, his voice deep and very familiar. But it just couldn't be....

It was Optimus.
