Shadowfangs' POV
I could only stare up at him with wide optics. How was this possible?! Optimus had joined the all spark at the end of the war... Didn't he?
"It is alright Shadowfangs. It is really me." He said, placing a servo on my shoulder.
"W-where...how?" Was all I could manage to say. I just didn't seem to be able to process all of this.Optimus chuckled a bit, "I will explain all in due time, but for now I do believe you and your friends are in danger. Where is Bumblebee?" He asked, looking down at me. I flinched, I honestly had no idea where Bee was, or if he was even alright.
"I-I don't know... We got separated when Starscream attacked." His optics widened at the mention of the seeker's name.
"Why are you travelling here in your condition? It is not very wise to do so." He gently helped me back towards the others. I looked up at him with a small sigh.
"We had no choice Ratchet couldn't get the groundbridge to us so we had to move on foot. With Strongarm in stasis and the fact I don't transform into a car...it would of just been too easy to be spotted by road." I sighed a bit, my pedes were still so sore from all the travelling they had done. It only made me think of the audioful I was going to hear from Ratchet for walking all this way in my condition."I can carry you if you like. You look very exhausted." Optimus smiled kindly at me.
"That actually would be great...my legs feel like they might give out on me..." I sighed, then gasped when Optimus picked me up.
"Does this make you feel more at ease?" I could only nod in response. Being carried had instantly relaxed my body. The sudden pressure on my back and pedes had disappeared in an instant, it felt so much better than it did when I had been walking.
"How has the others been in my absence?" He looked down at me when he spoke. I flinched softly, before letting out a sigh. "I won't lie, it wasn't easy after you were gone...Bee,Ratchet and Kairi had been hit hardest with your loss. Kairi especially. For the longest time, she just seemed....distant." I looked up to him with saddened optics. "She's really missed you." I said softly.
I frowned a little feeling him flinch, "It...was one of my biggest regrets...having to leave Kairi behind. It angered me so much when the Primes would not let me see her, nor make contact with her. She was not valued to the mission on Earth at the time...But before they had sent me back, their views of her had changed when I had used most of my strength to contact her." he explained, looking forward.
"I told her to come here, she was needed here...I needed somebot to help Bumblebee and your team..." he said softly. "Then they had sent me back...but I am no longer a Prime. "My optics widened, he...was no longer a Prime?! How was that possible. Did he anger the Primes and they refused to return the matrix to him? "But...I.. How come you aren't a Prime?" Was all I could manage.
Optimus chuckled a bit, "Like I have said before, all will be explained in due time Shadowfangs. For now, let's focus on getting you and your friends to safety." He said, pushing through the trees carefully and arriving at the sheltered area of the woodland where Kairi had left me.
I couldn't wait to see her reaction when she sees who I have run into.
Bumblebee's POV
It was just before dawn when me, Grimlock and Sideswipe had crossed the Nevada state line. It was almost like finally seeing light at the end of a dark tunnel. I couldn't describe the slight sense of relief that had washed over me.
But that relief didn't last for long, I had to remind myself constantly. I don't even know if Fangs was there yet or if she was even safe. The only thing that had kept me going was hope, a single shred of hope she was safe.
