Probability is a bitch. This is what Kali and Ghira Belladonna learned when they looked down at their firstborn child.

"He looks...human."

No tail.

No cat ears.

No claws.

No visible animal traits whatsoever.

Just jet black hair.

"He's still our child. We have the responsibility to raise him." Kali hesitantly picked up the baby. Ghira sighed "That's not how the public is going to see it. There would be at least hundred headlines putting us in a negative light if he was ever seen with us. We're the faces of the faunus race, if it is believed we're parenting a human...you know violent people can be Kali."

"I held him in my body for nine months and we're just going to get rid of him?" Kali felt guilt instantly rise within her as she cradled the sleeping child. "I'm still his mother, can't we hide him somehow?!" Ghira approached his wife as tears started to form, wrapping his thick arms around her in a gentle embrace "Not if you want him to turn out normal. I'm not sure he deserves to live in our basement until he's eighteen. Our best bet is getting him into an orphanage and hoping they'll take care of him."

"B-But people knew I was pregnant. If we suddenly don't have a baby to show for it they'll assume we threw him into the ocean." Ghira tensed up  before answering "We...we'll have to say it was a miscarriage." Kali widened her eyes. "Ghira..."

"I'm sorry Kali. It won't be pretty and it'll draw unwanted attention, but it's much better than the alternative." Ghira backed away and placed his hands on Kali's shoulders "And he's our child, I'm sure he'll grow up strong. Just like his mother." Kali gently placed the baby back in his crib. "O-Ok." the child was dressed in nothing but a white onesie that was most certainly one size too big.

Ghira set off into the night, a brown cloak over his shoulders and a basket clenched under his arm. He trekked through the empty streets, the dim lamplights being the only thing lighting his path. He arrived in front of a gated house on the corner of the street, he gently set the basket down. A cold breeze tore through the air, the baby shifted in its makeshift bed and began to cry. Ghira felt like someone had just reached into his chest and crushed his heart. The wails of the child rang out into the night.

Ghira clenched his fisted and willed himself to press the button that would alert those inside the orphanage. "Goodbye my son. I hope you can forgive me." the chieftain shamefully pulled the cloak over his head and walked away from his child.

_

The front gate of the orphanage swung open, a man with scales littered around his face and blonde hair shone a flashlight around the area. He sighed "What kind of asshole would Ding Dong Ditch an orphanage? Young people these days..." he closed and locked the gate before heading back inside.

_

"Hey! Stop crying!" a very muscular man tried his best to calm the baby. The wailing didn't halt in the slightest.

"How can such a small body make so much noise?" the man thought to himself. He snatched to baby up and cradled it in his arms...while running laps in the forest.

"Baby's are supposed to like being rocked back and forth, right?"

He never once thought to remove the boar's head which rested on his dome.

I hope you got my references to those silly af abused and neglected fanfics people like writing so much. The complete character suicide they have to put some of these established characters through makes me laugh. I hope this was much more believable. This is the shortest chapter I've ever written, most will be 1.5k+ each, so don't worry.
