So here's this, enjoy!

Jason is the cutest little thing I swear! When we got home I quickly ran up to my room so that I could set him down to play with his toys and keep him away from our parents. Then, I went downstairs and made a bottle very quickly while I heard my parents in the next room yelling about bills that hadn't been paid and simple things like that. Maybe if they would both do some real work then they wouldn't have to worry about these money problems. But anyways, I need to get away from this rant so I better hurry back on upstairs to make sure Jason hasn't gotten into anything that he isn't supposed too. Shoot, even is he did I don't think that there's any possible way that I could be mad at him. In all honesty, he already has me wrapped around his little chubby finger. I can't deal with how cute he is honestly, and even though it's only been a little bit, my parents don't pay any mind to me since I'm busy taking care of him. Jason has already become a blessing to me in more ways than one. Although he doesn't realize it, Jason has made me realize that good does exist in the world, and sometimes you just have to go out and find it.

The next morning, I dressed Jason in a pair of khaki pants and dark grey button up shirt. I walked quietly down the stairs and was frightened when I learned my parents were both home and waiting for me in the kitchen when I arrived downstairs. "Emma! Put the kid down, we need to have a talk." I immediately began to grow nervous as I walked in to the living room and softly set Jason on the floor with a few of his toys to keep him distracted. "Okay, you are to take care of the kid, and if anyone asks say it's your brother. Take him to the daycare at your school and the bring him home with you. I don't want to have to be woken up by him crying, ever. You better keep him under control." He ground out while looking off in to the living room with disgust evident on his features. "Yes, sir. I'll make sure that he doesn't bother you at all." I said. "Good, now off you go, I can't have you being late and getting me a bad reputation as a father in this community." He said. Yeah right, like anyone would ever like him, I thought to myself. I picked Lane up and began the trek to school softly humming to keep him entertained.

Arriving at school, it took a little wandering around on my part in order to find the daycare. Sure I had been here for a little while, but I had never had an previous reasons to need to know where it was and how everything seemed to work. Walking down the hall the lady in the office directed me to, I saw a sign that read "DAYCARE" is big, bold, colorful letters. I walked into the receptionist office and waited for the girl in front of me to be done dropping off her little brother as well. "Hello dear, how may I help you?" The sweet receptionist asked in a caring manner. "Hello, um, I need to drop my brother off, but he has never come here before." I said. "That's quite alright dear, I just need you to fill out these two papers and then you can be on your way." She said while handing me a clipboard and a pencil. I walked to a nearby chair to complete the paperwork she had given me. Once I was done, I walked back up to the desk and passed her the clipboard and pencil along with the now completed forms. "Thank you Megan, I'll go ahead and take little Jason back to the playroom along with the other boys and girls his age." She said kindly. "Thank you so much! I just come to pick him up when school is over, correct?" "Yes." "Thanks again ma'am." I said in the most thankful tone I could muster while walking back into the hallway. I continued on until I reached my locker and grabbed the books and binders I would need for my first few classes.

Sitting through my first class, I couldn't seem to focus. It didn't matter what the teacher said, nothing was registering in my mind. All I could seem to think about was Jason and if he was doing okay at daycare. He was in a new setting, and he had no clue who any of the people were. Although he was fine when I dropped him off, I couldn't help but to be nervous.

Once my first few classes ended and I was heading to lunch, I ran Reed, and he managed to catch me before I hit the ground. "Hey, Megan! You look beautiful today." He said causing me to blush furiously. "Thanks, Reed." I mumbled out while looking at the ground, still feeling nervous about Jason. "What's wrong? You seem really nervous about something." He said, obviously noticing my worried state. "Oh, it's nothing. I just dropped my brother off at daycare for the first time and I'w worried if he's okay." I stated while looking at the ground in shame. "Hey, it's okay, my mom works there! I'm sure he'll be absolutely fine." He said sounding rather confident. "Okay, if you say so." I said. "Well, why you're here, would you like to sit with me at lunch?" He said while looking skeptically at the side of my neck. "Uh, sure." "Okay then, let's go." He said while seeming to be angry about something, although I could tell he was trying to hide it from me.

All throughout lunch Reed kept staring at my neck and I couldn't help but wonder what was wrong. Did I have something on me? I didn't think so. While he got into a heated discussion with his friend, Bryan, about what video game was better, I discreetly rubbed my hand against where he had been staring and immediately winced in pain. I should've known, dad hit me there yesterday, and I completely forgot! That means Reed has seen the bruise and it is shaped almost exactly like a hand! If Reed starts asking question I could be in serious trouble. "Hey, Megan? Are you okay? You're grimacing a lot." He said in an almost interrogative manner. "Uh-h yeah, j-just fine. But uh, I uh, I gotta go, bye." I said rushing out of the cafeteria and in to the nearest girls bathroom. I went over to the mirror and grimaced when I saw that it had turned into a nasty blue color, and fixed my hair as best as I could in to a side pony tail to cover most of the bruise. Now, only a little was able to be seen, and that would have to do for the last 2 classes I had to get through.

I made it through my last 2 classes managing to avoid Reed. Although, I couldn't help but feel bad because he looked like he genuinely cared for my well being. I couldn't let him get to close though, he would start to ask questions and find out what was going on at home and then we would both be in huge trouble. There' s no way I would allow someone to get caught up in my problems, they would just end up getting hurt in the end.
