I just wanna start off by saying I don't know JACK SHIT about anything related to Game Development. Don't hate. Appreciate. <3

◇Waylen's POV◇

I wake up around 7am. I check my phone and see messages from Silas. Some of them are random sorts of emojis. As I scroll through them I see the last few messages that were sent around 5.

Dumby-head💀: Sorry you're waking up alone. I know you'll miss me baby ;)

Dumby-head💀: I had to rush into work. See you there at 11:00. ON. THE. DOT.

Dumby-head💀: Love you ❤

Sighing, I put my phone down and get ready for the day.

A/N: I hate writing slow burn so we are skipping past this part.

I hop out the taxi and wave it away. Walking into the building with many people rushing around. I still wonder how I even got to work in a place like this. Silas owns a huge company that was passed down to him from his father. What is this company they run you asked?

Game Development.

Yeah. You read that right. Game. Development.

My job here design. I help with the looks of these games. The characters to be more specific. It's basically an excuse to sketch all day. My favorite part of my job is to color the characters. I don't know what it is, but coloring  make me feel better. Not in a weird way. But in a calming way.

Bexley, my good friend, runs up to me. "Hey Waylen! Glad to see you!" She's always so cheerful. Makes me wonder if she does drugs.

"Hey Bex. How's it going?" She sighs. "Stressful. Boss is not in a good mood. Something happened and now he's all grumpy...-" But she quickly corrects her self, "I-its not a b-bad thing t-though! Everyone has there bad days!" She wasn't even looking at me. I turn around.

Oh he's pissed.

"Hello Mr. Dolivo. Nice to see you." I say in my most professional tone. "Stop standing around chatting. This is a work space, not a hang out area." Bexley scurried off in a hurry. As did I. Just because I'm his friend, does not mean I wanna be caught in the cross fire.

☺︎︎——————————☹︎

"Isn't he a villan? Why should we make his color scheme bright and happy. The description doesn't say he's some sort of psychopath." – "It also says that the player doesn't know he's a villan at least until the next 10 chapters, depending on the choices they choose."

In my own world, I'm not included in the conversation. I really don't care for this part. "What do you think Slora?" I resist the urge to roll my eyes. Now everyone's focus is on me. I don't know why this chick doesn't like me, but I did something. Her name is Bella.... forgot her last name. She's been picking on me since I started working here. Maybe it's because Silas comes and checks on me, goes on lunch with me, picks me up, drops me off, etc.

That still isn't a valid reason to mess with someone.

"We should just keep the color pallet neutral. Make the character less important, and when the player suspects someone It'll be a surprise when they find out who it is."

The room is quiet. "That's dumb." Bella says simpley. "Giving the character plain colors to make them blend in? That's basic, everyone does that." I felt embarrassed. I slumped down in my chair. "I actually like that idea." Silas says. Bella whips around. Fast. "I-I was saying that! Even though it's not original, it's still creative-!"

Someone in the room groaned. So It seems like not everyone likes her. I look up and see Silas's eyes on me. He winks. I smile. "I'll tell the writers department about this. They could make some small changes to the characters personality."

And like that he walks out. Bella's face is red with embarrassment. I kinda felt bad. But at the same time, she put me on the spot just to put me down. That's karma, bitch.

☠︎︎————————————☠︎︎

Works over. Thankfully. I walk towards the exit to see Silas standing there. He looks up and his eyes light up. "Hey. I was wondering if you wanted to go out to eat?" Who was I to say no. "Sur-"

"Slora! I left the some important papers on your desk. They need to be done before 12." Bella. I swear I hate her. But I can only say these rude things in my head. Lord knows how I feel about confrontation.

"Uh- yeah. I'll get them done right away." Silas looks sad. Like a puppy who just got his bone taken away. He's so clingy it's cute.

"Silas-"

"It's Mr. Dolivo to you."

Oh- uhm Mr. Dolivo, I can always go with you~" I really don't wanna hear this conversation, but I'm nosy. "I lost my appetite. Come on Waylen, I can help you with these 'important papers'."

He walks towards our section with me in toe.

"You should have went out to dinner with her."

"Don't start Way, I'm upset." For what? I don't understand why he's been so moody today.

I make my way over to my desk to see a thick stack of papers. "Oh this was just petty." I mumble. Silas takes the papers and looks through them. "These were emailed to the head of the design department." Now I know why he's upset, I think. She just put very important work sent in for her, on a person who has only worked here for a month.

I lightly grab is arm, "Silas, you should calm down. You can talk to her about his in the morning." He looks down at me. "You're right. I don't know why I got so heated in the first place. Gosh. I'm gonna turn out like my father." He shakes his head.

"Come on, let's go out to dinner."

A/N: I think I might go back and change this chapter, I don't really like it. 😭 Anyways, here's a meme
