It's be three months since Al forced me to date him. It's been miserable. Tobias has been trying to save me every day. He doesn't understand I'm protecting him. I'm sure by now he's given up on me. I can't stand Al he has been extremely controlling. I can't even talk to anyone else but him and my family. He won't even let me drive by myself. Al is treating me like he owns me. I'm scared he is going to hit me again. He has only done it once yet because I tried to talk with Christina. I need to talk to Tobias tell go what happened. I can't live like this.

School starts today. Right now I'm riding to school with Al. I don't want to go to school. If i do my friends if they even are still that will try to get me to talk. To tell the truth. When we get there we go to the office to get our schedules. When I get my schedule I see.
Period 1 math
Period 2 French
Period 3 history
Period 4 gym
Period 5 English
Lunch
Period 6 study hall
Period 7 science
Period 8 art
Period 9 study hall
I have period 1, 4, 7, and 9 with Al. The rest I'll find out. I hope one has my friends in it. Al and I walk to math together. I hate every minute of it. He tries to make conversation but I refuse to talk to him. Al grabs my hand with to much force trying to make it look like we are a couple. It works, people are staring at us with weird looks. I suddenly get uncomfortable. When we finally get to class we sit in the middle of the room. I wish we didn't everyone is looking at us. Class goes by in a blur and i can't wait to wait to go to French. Wow! I never thought I would say that.
When I get to French I see Tobias siting in the far right corner where we use to sit. My heart reaches out to him. He has no idea what is going on. Tobias will soon I'll tell him everyday. I walk over to him and sit to his right.
"Hey." I say quietly. He doesn't answer. He's mad at me, I can tell. He feels like he should just shut out the world. "Please talk to me Four. Please."
He turns to look at me and takes a deep breath. "Tris." That's all I get.
"I'm sorry for everything. Let me explain everything." I plead
"Why now? Why didn't you have anything to tell me before?" He was angry at her.
"If you want to know what happened need me 5th period in the woods behind the football field." Before he can answer the teacher comes in. Then class goes by in a blur. Same with 3rd period.
Soon it's 4th period and I'm dreading it. Al is in this class. I hope we do sports and aren't on the same team. No such luck. When I walk out I see Al and Tobias arguing. I walk closer I see Al and Tobias are both furious. What are they arguing about? I wonder. Then I realize it's me.
"I didn't do anything to her! I saved her from you!" Al yells, lies.
"I know you did. She wound never be with you." Tobias is red in the face. I have never seen him this mad.
"Don't cross me Four." Al threatens.
"Guys stop fight! Now." I yell at them.
"Tris go some where else." Al tells me. I don't move. "Now!"
"Don't tell her what to do." Tobias yells at him.
"Four, stay out of this!" Al snaps.
"Leave Four alone. He didn't do anything. This is between us." I snap back at him. I was done with him.
"Tris, don't argue with me."
Realization was clear on Tobias's face. He finally understood what was going on. Tobias understood why I was so distant, he understood. He steps in front of me to protect me. "Don't talk to Tris that way. She's her own person. You can't control her, she isn't yours to control."
Al was to angry, to mad. His fist went up and landed on Tobias's face. At first Tobias was shocked then angry. Before Tobias could do anything I lunged at Al by stepping around Tobias. I make Al stumble back a little but he doesn't fall. Then Al does something I hadn't expected. He grabs my arm and drags me away.
"What happened to our deal?" Al asks in my ear.
"It changed when you hit Four." I say with venom. When Al isn't looking I sneak a look at Tobias. I mouth 'after this in the woods don't forget.'
