There was this old chocolate factory a few feet away from my house. It was not abandoned but rarely used anymore. I was always curious to know what magical world was in there. Whenever I just took as much as a glimpse at it, it gave me the same feeling I had when going to the mall for the mall Santa when he said to come sit on his lap. Everyone that knew about the factory would warn me to avoid it at all costs. Even with all their warnings, I could not care less and with everything they said, it gave me more motivation to learn more about the factory.

All who tried to make me avoid the factory thought they did a splendid job but little did they know, there had to be a bigger effort to fight off my urge to explore the unknown that I have an interest in. My curiosity finally got me on a rainy Saturday morning on twenty third September, two thousand and seventeen. Saturdays were my days for fun under the sun and football practice. This particular Saturday was also the day of my parents' three day business trip. With all that set, I was home alone, and because of how intense the rain was, all plans were cancelled. They stopped faster than me getting a punishment from my mom. I had always planned on how I would execute my journey to the factory but I never set a specific date for this wonderful and secretive plan. Luckily, the opportunity opened itself up for me and so my anticipation could not stay still. I packed everything on my list; my detective pack, rain prevention equipment and spiritual backup. They were all fitted nicely into my forest green jansport bag, which consisted of five big and small slots or what some call pockets. From there on I knew an extraordinary and life-changing journey began. I clothed myself in nice long black jeans, a black long sleeve sweater, a black cap and some black Air Force Ones. Over that outfit was my navy blue dress like rain-coat and my backpack on my back. I double checked if everything was intact and in their place. After spending seven minutes, thirty-two seconds and fifty-nine milliseconds extra in the house, I finally took my first and last steps from the building I called and named my home.

Now that I left the house, the factory seemed to be placed a lot further than if seen at first sight. No matter the distance, I moved briskly and carefully as the rain poured on and off which made the streets very slippery. The walking feltl like another school marathon, but only a few meters further. The wind was strong but could not throw me down not once, the rain poured heavily at some points but yet I felt little to no pain. At last, I arrived at my destination, 'Pindison Family Chocolate Factory Establishment.' Thankfully I have some history about them, they were one of the first families to leave and perish from the town. Their family produced one of the best chocolates in town and exported to at most; half the state, but less about history more about being a detective.

With a push as small enough to make a ball roll, the factory's front door opened widely, like it was welcoming me inside. The building itself was quite dark, but luckily I was prepared and held a flashlight in the biggest pocket of my bag. I stopped for a moment and briskly grabbed my handy dandy flashlight and continued my investigation. Every piece of equipment that caught my eye was rusty, old and almost fully broken down. The deeper I explored the run-down factory, the more secrets unfolded. Newspaper articles, magazines, posters and even the walls talking about all the bad things that happened in the factory. From body parts getting mixed into the chocolates to many townspeople falling ill from eating a certain number of bars.

Somewhere inside of me was telling me that these were signs and I should follow them; which meant leaving such an awesome place. By the time I got this feeling, I had searched the entire floor level and was missing one to touch base on. I found many hidden treasures and had not regretted coming to the almost abandoned factory. As I approached the stairway I suddenly got a stomach ache, there was no scent or anything that led to it but it more posed like it was my body's reaction to a gut feeling. Without second guessing, I grabbed my spiritual backup items and knew that the time had come. Once I felt that I was prepared, I meticulously tip-toed up the stairs, making my surroundings known to me and standing my guard. Out of nowhere I heard a slithering noise and got tangled onto something.

My husband and I came back from our business trip to be stunned by terrifying news. Our son who we left home for the last time vanished into thin air. No one knew his whereabouts, no one knew his plans and absolutely no one knew what he was thinking. We never thought about incidents like these happening so fast and so soon. We have filed for a search case and have reported him missing, until a day like today, January the twenty fifth of two thousand and nineteen, we hope he comes home.

Nothing but untouched chocolate moondrop shaped candies were found in a jansport bag on the second floor of the building where he last was found, not in one piece.
