"Everything's going to be okay!"My father yelled out.I was scared. Hearing his voice fade as the guards escorted him down the halls of the Capital.
What was going to happen?
It seems like everyone is constantly living in a nightmare, But no one has awakened just yet.
I instantly remembered my mother's last word, as she laid there on her death bed. "You my love, You are going to do great things..."
My fear became stronger, while my eyes became angry... Filled with uncontrollable rage.
'They did this!' I thought to myself. The Capital was no doubt responsible for the destruction of our former peaceful ways of life.
This very room, swarming with men of power, disturbed my calm. But these specific men ,had a weakness.
They were intimidated by the new discovery called 'D-90'. This stood for: Discovery of the 90's.
Of what I've been told, this discovery was founded by a woman with the name Dr. Litt. She was the Capitals #1 scientists. Nobody knows what really happened to her... But we do know that after the discovery got out to the public, there were riots. The Capital blamed Dr. Litt for the uproar.
Many of the retired ones that left the Capital don't like to talk about the true story of what really happened just a few years ago.
I've asked my Uncle but he only answered my questions with, "Dr. Litt did what she thought was right. But what the Capital thought was wrong."

All I can think about right now... Is how much I wish today wasn't testing day... I sadly turned 13 today. A few years ago, I would be throwing myself a party... But not after D-90 precautions were made.
Everyone who turns 13 is now tested for whatever the D-90 is. They try to fill us in with the same information that we've been hearing, over and over again. Just with smarter and bigger words, to make us think we're learning something knew.
'But I'm not an idiot!' I thought to myself as a nurse called my name from her clip-board. She was smiling... The kind of smile someone gives you when there truly not sincere.
She led me up a flight of stairs and then down a long hallway. At the end of the hallway was a door. A metal door. The kind that creep you out...
She opened the door and pushed me inside. Then said, "The doctor will be in soon."
Before she shut the door the word, "B-But..." stuttered out of my mouth.
She just evilly squinted and grinned at me as she cut me off by saying, "Happy Testing Day."
She slammed the door shut...
I stood there at the door. My mouth felt like it had opened in disbelief... But no! She said what she said. Showing no sincerity, no humanity. And it frightened me not knowing exactly why I was here.

When I finally turned around, the first thing that caught my eye was a white looking lab table/bed . It honestly looked scary, something that was in a horror film.
Then I slowly looked around as I headed to the lab table/bed that had my name with blue tape stuck on it. As my eyes took in the bright light that took over the whole ceiling and the white floor that was reflecting the light from above, right into my eyes.
On the lab table/bed there was, thankfully, sunglasses. I quickly put them on as I felt a little blindness coming on.
As soon as I put them on... Suddenly the oposite wall from the door opened up. It was no longer a white wall like the other three. When it opened it instantly was replaced by a thick see threw glass. It was probably on the other side of the wall the whole time. But how was I to know?
As it opened, a brighter light flashed threw the glass. I quickly made my way to it, placing my hands on the glass. After the sun glasses started to kick in, I was no longer feeling blind.
As I looked threw the glass I noticed I wasn't the only one who was thrown into a lab like room. There was 14 other similar rooms with 14 other 13 year olds. I felt a little relieved. But why? These kids had to be tested on too... I nervously started to tap on the glass.
As I scanned the other rooms, I made eye contact with a boy. He was staring. Looking just as afraid as I did. I could see from a distance his bright blue eyes, and when I say bright, I mean that were a good 50 feet away from each other. About 4 rooms away.
There was nothing behind the glass but darkness below that went down who knows how far. But to me... It looked like a tunnel. That was curved into a circle because of the different rooms surrounding it.,
I couldn't look away from the blue eyed boy. And he didn't look away from me either. There were more boys then girls in this interesting circular building... Just leaving me with more questions... I wish I wasn't so curious...
As we kept eye contact, he slowly put his right hand on his glass wall, same as I. Then his blue eyes were suddenly filled with tears. I could tell my face turned pale not knowing what was to happen to me, the blue eyed boy, and the 13 others.
Our staring eyes were interrupted by a loud voice over a speaker. I held my ears with my hands because um the voice was literally very loud. Too loud...
"Welcome Children, To The Capital. Please find your ways to each of your lab beds. Your individual doctors will be with you shortly."
There was a brief pause in the echo of the loud voice. I looked back at the blue eyed boy, but he was already heading to the lab bed. I'm guessing the scary looking lab table was really the lab bed the voice had mentioned. It had to be... Seeing there was nothing else in the room.
A couple seconds later the voice started up again. I was still holding my ears from become deaf. I made my way to the lab bed.
The voice finished with, "And Happy Testing Day."
