Charlies POV

I stood there while thoughts flew through my mind. It didn't make any sense. Well, the fact that they are practically invincible doesn't change the fact that we still need to get past the fence. While Jayde and Emer slid underneath the fence, me and William tried to think of ways to get past it.

"We could dig a hole underneath the fence?" I said.

"That would take too long. Plus, who knows how far the poles go down?" Jayde replied.

I nodded in agreement. Wish there was a bridge or something that we could walk over on. I looked up at the sky to help me think. I noticed Chiprell (a mix between two old animals called a chipmunk and a squirrel) running from branch to branch. Wait... That might just be it!

"Hey! Maybe Jayde and Emeryld could find a branch then climb a tree and set it over the fence like a bridge! Then me and William can crawl across!"

I was feeling pretty proud of myself. I mean, that was a smart idea. Of course, I'm always smart but this was like... KABAM!! I was a genius! Give it up for Charlie!! Can't you hear everyones cheers? Oh wait... I'm rambling to myself again ain't I? Oops. Speaking of cheering, why is it so quiet?

I looked at everyone else. Instead of cheering, they were just giving me doubting looks.

"Really?"
Emer stared at me.

"What? That was a good idea."
I waited for someone to answer me.

"There are so many things wrong with that idea. First of all, what if one of you fell off! You could get EXTREMELY hurt! Probably killed. Second, there aren't any close, strong trees.Third, there really aren't any branches that are long and strong. Fourth..."

After that I blurred Emer out.

"Ok, I get it. But we don't have a choice. Can you guys think of anything better?"

"She has a point." said Jayde

"Fine. We can try." Emer grumbled.

We walked along the side of the fence, looking for the perfect set of trees. Finally, we found them. Me and William went out to find a big strong stick while Jayde and Emer waited.

After a while we came back and started working. Soon it was finished.

"I'll go first so we know that William can make it across safely."

"Good idea." Emer replied.

I held onto a branch as I slowly made my way across. When I reached the end I jumped off.

William climbed up the tree and onto the bridge. Was about halfway over when we heard a loud CRACK.

"Uh Oh" I whispered.

" Hurry up! Just run across! It's gonna break!"

He ran and jumped straight on top of Jayde.

"Really. You had to land on me."

"Sorry." he mumbled.

"Whatever. Let's go. We've wasted a lot of time. Come on." I ran up ahead.

We made our way out of the forest. Jayde told me it was about three o'clock. Whatever that means.

We decided to make/find a shelter. We settled on a well hid spot in the woods. We supplies and soon we had built a small shack. We had a lot of extra time so we decided to make a fire pit. When that was done, we didn't know what to do. We built a fire and sat around it.

"So tell us about your trip. All of the details."

I listened to their story, and all of the sudden I remembered something.

"Hey guys. We need to eat. Let's go hunt."

"With what?" Jayde asked.

"Uh, my knife? And Will's bow and arrows. What weapons do you guys have?"

"We don't really have weapons?" Emer sheepishly asked.

"Whatever. We'll make you something. Let's go."

We ended up catching two rabbits, and a chiprell. Jayde found some berries, and Emer found water, nuts, and mushrooms.

"Look at this feast." I eyed the food hungrily.

We had roast rabbit, chiprell and mushroom stew, berry water, and nuts.

We ate to our hearts content, until nothing was left. I patted my stomach and smiled. Then I lay down in the shelter and fell asleep.
