(Jayde's POV)
I wake surrounded by orange, clay walls. The air is hot and humid. I look around, alarmed.
'This is isn't my room!' I think.
Sudden realization hits me. I remember what happened yesterday. How mom was captured and me and Emeryld went to go find her.
I run into the kitchen, seeing is there is any food I can eat. Suddenly I hear a vehicle outside.
"That's strange. No one owns anyone any vehicles. No one except 'Them'..."
"We have to go!" I mutter.
I run upstairs and shake Emeryld out of bed.
"Wake up!! They're coming!!"
She opens her eyes and mumbles about some random dream.
"WAKE UP!!!" I scream in her face.
"I'm coming! Jeez..." she she grumpily snarls.
"They. Are. Coming." I try not to yell.
"What?! Oh... OH NO!!!"
She jumps out of bed and runs to the door. We run outside and are about to turn right, taking us back to Section 11. We see two white trucks driving up the road. I turn to run the other way.
Emeryld stops me and says,
"Jayde, we can't go that way! We would just be getting farther and farther away from mom!"
"Does is it look like we have a choice?" I snap.
We run towards Section 13, hiding behind trees and houses as go.
