"So are you sure your aunt is okay with me staying over for the night?" Philomena questioned as she picked up her phone to call her dad.
"Yup! Aunt Judy is super cool. She let's me stay up late, I'm allowed to watch pretty much any movie I want to, and curfew is unheard of in this house. Unless feel like playing around with her," Jewel smiled, all traces of her angry triumph diminished.
"Lucky!" Philomena flashed Jewel the thumbs up sign as she talked. Their sleepover was a go.
Jewel crossed her legs and looked down at her hands until Philomena got off the phone.
"Y'know... I've been thinking..." She trailed off.
"What?"
"Well, what if we got back at Amanda some how? Like... We gave her a taste of her own medicine."
Philomena's eyes widened, "You mean getting revenge on the most popular girl in school? Don't you realize that what you're suggesting is a kamikaze mission?"
Jewel winced slightly, "Oh... You're right."
Philomena sat down beside her, "I'm all for revenge. But on Amanda? It'd be so sweet I'd have a hundred cavities, and a thousand regrets," she put her hand on Jewel's shoulder and looked her in the eye.
"Let's do it."
---
It wasn't an overly complicated plan, but it was a well developed plan that even a child could understand, provided they knew what a plan was.
"Okay, you sent the message to Rachel, right?" Jewel asked.
Philomena nodded. After several rough drafts that they deemed too complex for Rachel to understand, they finally came up with the message they were to send to her and, by extension, Amanda.
"So tell me again why we're including Rachel?" Philomena questioned.
Jewel put down her phone and looked at her with a grim expression, "She was in on it, too. Don't forget, Rachel is running as Amanda's Vice President."
“Then we’re all set. Tomorrow, our revenge plan is a go,” Philomena smiled.
The two girls nodded, mentally running through the plans as they laid down in bed.
“Think it’ll work?” Philomena asked.
Jewel nodded, “Without a doubt.”
---
The next day, Philomena found Rachel’s reply to her message and smiled at Jewel.
“Let the plan commence,” Jewel replied, pulling on a fresh set of clothes.
Jewel and Philomena walked to the mall and made it there with time to spare. It would be another half hour until Rachel and Amanda arrived. While Philomena waited outside the main entrance, Jewel walked off to the coffee shop and returned with four travel cups of coffee.
After what felt like ages, Amanda and Rachel walked through the doors, their faces emotionless at the sight of Jewel and Philomena, highly contrasting the twin grins of the duo.
“Hi there, Amanda and Rachel!” Philomena waved, the two walked over and Jewel stepped towards Amanda, holding out a steaming cup of coffee.
But the cup never reached her outstretched hand.
As soon as Jewel closed the gap between the two of them, she found herself “tripping” on her own laces, the contents of the cup sloshing out onto Amanda’s pristine (and expensive looking) white shirt.
“Agh! Look at what you did!” Amanda screeched, frantically dabbing at her shirt, “This is a one of a kind shirt! And you ruined it! You- you-”
“Amanda! Quit being such a drama queen! Look at what she did to my shirt!” Rachel screeched.
“You’re going to pay for this, Jewel. And today, you’ll be paying up front,” Amanda seethed, grabbing Jewel by her shirt.
“Hey! Let go! Amanda !” Jewel attempted to squirm out of Amanda’s grip, but she held her tight, pulling her towards the mall fountain.
“Sorry, Jewel. But I’m doing what I should have done a long time ago,” Amanda growled, pushing her head close to the water.
Splash!
Jewel suddenly found that Amanda’s grip on her was no longer present. Instead of hearing threats from her, she heard only the gasp of mall patrons as Amanda flopped in the fountain. Standing over the most popular girl in school was none other than Philomena, her chest heaving.
“Sorry, Amanda. But I did what I should have done a long time ago,” she quoted, staring down at the girl in the fountain.
Before any questions could be asked, Philomena placed a hand on Jewel’s shoulder and led her out into the mall parking lot.
Man, I'm really bad about keeping away from this sort of stuff. Well, please tell me what you think, and expect more updates soon!
