- Akari POV -
Am I sleeping? Dreaming? Why do I feel so numb? Please wake up....I can't feel anything below me....or anything at all for that matter. Wait a second- I can't breathe!
My eyes snapped open in a panic, taking in my surroundings. I was....falling? Either I was falling very slowly or I was floating. My breath felt caught in my throat, desperately trying to escape. This place is quiet....too quiet. It's dark and cold, but somehow I'm still conscious, considering the fact that I can't breathe. Am I dead? I remember...
"Sora..." I whispered out, memories flooding my brain.
Sora got hit, and time stopped as I glitched away. So that means...
I'm caught between realities.
Technically I come here every time I glitch somewhere, but only for a split second. My blue eyes widened as something dawned on me. How do I get out? Normally when I glitch, I have to be able to see my destination, and then keep thinking about it the entire time. But there's nothing here. I have to try....I can't leave Haru. I can't leave....
"Katsuki..." I managed to mumble out, lack of air making it difficult to speak.
I closed my eyes, starting to lose feeling in my body from the cold. Maybe....dying won't be so bad. I'll be with mom again, and all the bad things in life will just stop. But...that means leaving Katsuki and Haru behind. And all the amazing friends I've made. I'm trying to be a hero....heroes don't give up. I could feel the aching cold begin to eat away at my consciousness. I can't stop now. Concentrating as hard as I could at this point, I pictured the first person to enter my mind. Katsuki. I need to get to Katsuki. I refused to let anything else enter my mind, keeping all focus on the ash-blonde that I so desperately needed to see. An odd sensation began to rise up within my body, something that was pleasantly familiar. Then everything went black.
- Normal POV -
"Bakugo- you need to calm down."
A certain spiky headed boy was pacing back and forth, hands shaking as he was frantically fighting to hold back tears that threatened to spill.
"She hasn't reappeared for over an hour! I can't calm down! What if she's gone!?" Katsuki shouted, voice cracking slightly.
By now, the quirk drugs had worn off as they only lasted an hour or two. After Sora gained control of her quirk, dozens of pro heroes arrived and aided each other in capturing the villain, Vex. A young, green eyed boy watched his father get taken away, clutching onto the long haired teenager's shirt.
"It's o-okay now Haru, you should try and sleep." Sora whispered, running her fingers through his messy, faded-brown locks.
"No. Not until I see Akari." He sniffled.
The golden eyed girl nodded slowly in understanding, guilt rising up within her gut.
"I'm so sorry. It was my fault! It was my quirk that made her disappear. If it wasn't for me Akari would be here right now! I can't believe I did that to my best friend, your sister, and your lover. I'm sorry.." Sora exclaimed, hot salty tears rolling down her flushed cheeks.
"Sora-" Shoto began, but someone cut him off.
"No. It's not your fault. It was that fucking psychotic bastard's fault. I can't believe I'm saying this...but don't blame yourself for any of this. None of you. Akari values and loves you, your her best friend. So she wouldn't want to hear you beating yourself up like this. And....I guess you're not someone I completely despise either. " Katsuki mumbled, brows furrowing.
Both Sora and Shoto's eyes widened at the normally hot-headed teen's words. But they could see the visible pain, or twitch of his hand whenever he stated Akari's name. However, a pair of heterochromatic eyes narrowed.
"Bakugo, what's that beside you?!" He shouted.
Carmine hues darted towards the direction Shoto was pointing. The air beside him began to glitch, slowly turning bright blue as each second passed. Katsuki's eyes widened as a person began to form, and suddenly, a certain short haired girl collapsed into his toned arms.
"Akari!?- Holy shit you're freezing! " He gasped, clutching onto her smaller form.
She was shivering from the cold, and her breathing was unsteady. Shoto ran over to where the pair now sat, kneeling down beside them. Katsuki warmed up his palms as much as he could without creating sparks, and pressed them against her torso. Meanwhile, the bicolour haired male worked on warming up his friend's exposed arms with his right hand. The taller teenage girl ran over to them, Haru still wrapped securely in her arms.
"AKARI!" The green eyed boy cried, squirming out of Sora's grasp.
Said girl laid limp in Katsuki's arms, eyes closed shut, long dark eyelashes brushing against her cheek.
"Is- Is she okay?" The golden eyed girl mumbled.
"She's okay. It's just....wherever she was must've been below freezing." Shoto stated, looking up at his own lover.
Suddenly, bright, baby blue eyes snapped open. Akari sat up abruptly looking into Katsuki's fiery red eyes.
"Kat'..." She breathed out, tears welling up in her eyes.
That broke the poor boy. Engulfing Akari's much smaller form into a tight embrace, he let his tears break loose. Haru let his own tears roll down his freckled face once again, joining them in their emotional hug. The two remaining teenagers stood beside each other, watching the scene before them. Sora began to tear up, realizing that her best friend really was okay, Shoto mimicking her actions.
"Fuck it!" She exclaimed, as both her and Shoto joined the hug.
Everyone cried as they all wrapped their arms around Akari. The group probably looked incredibly stupid at the moment, but they didn't give a shit. Someone they all loved could have died, and now here she was in their arms, crying along with them.
"W-wait where's-" Akari began, voice cracking.
"He's gone. We don't have to worry about that sick bastard anymore." Katsuki whispered in the crook of her neck.
"I guess this is one way to get your body temperature back up." The bicolour haired boy chuckled, despite the warm tears falling slowly down his face.
Katsuki lifted his head up, staring at beautiful, watery blue eyes that stared right back at him. Akari couldn't stop the soft smile that stretched across her pink lips. Her heart swelled from how much love she felt for the people beside her, and for the love of her life that sat in front of her. The ash-blonde couldn't help smiling himself, however he tried to hide it by placing his head back into the crook of her neck, leaving a small kiss.
"I don't want to ruin the moment or anything, but we are kind of just sitting in an empty alleyway. Plus we told the pro's we'd go home as soon as possible." Sora mumbled, wiping her eyes with the back of her hands.
They all stood up, Katsuki helping Akari regain her balance. Her blue eyes gazed at the people around her, chuckling softly to herself.
How could I possibly give up if it meant never seeing these people again?
